Post Office To Cut Saturday Mail Delivery

Let some company like UPS, FedEx or SER’s Fly by Night Mail Service handle it.

Sell all the buildings, vehicles, etc. to them. Let the contract winner hire the current post office workers, we’ll still need them.

Now it would be up to the “contract” winner to make a profit and I personally believe they can. AND don’t drop Saturday deliveries.

Privatize the Mail sound terrible in a way but I believe it will increase the tax base…is that right…collect more personal taxes. Now the newly hired post office employees would be working under the contract winners benefit packages not the US government.

YES it’s a WIN WIN situation for everyone. VOTE SER for President!

I really don't care, but the Post Office money problem, can be blamed on the CONGRESS (GOVT) and the fact they don't know how to do business.

1. Millions and Millions of dollars of stamps go unused because they are collected as a hobby. This obviously leads to the requirement for some workers.

2. They should stop giving boxes away. Many of the boxes they give free (will even deliver to your home) are NOT used for mail. DUMB, and VERY expensive.

3. The Post Office gives these people that mail catalogs a special discount for BULK mail. BTW (Bulk should be a key word here) Not only should they increase the cost because they deliver too much of It, the carriers are perhaps becoming injured ie: back injuries. from carrying them, and we end up paying for their Disibility.

4. Bulk mail should be changed to charge a fairer price. I don't know what the specific rules are, but It costs the same to have a piece of bulk mail delivered as It does one from me, not to mention they pick the darn mail up from the sender, for free. Charge em, for the pick up.

5. Finally It all boils down to the fact they don't listen to their workers. I know from talking to the carriers etc. that they have great ideas, and nobody listens to them. Naturally a nationwide problem, In many cases.

I dont know when Sweden gave up on Saturday mail delivery or if they ever had it, but I have never once gotten mail on Saturdays here.. no biggie.. just wait till Monday

I guess I won't miss Saturday delivery too much.

Me for Defense Dept? Ahahahaha. All of our troops come home and we seal our borders permanently. Stop sending aid to everybody, especially countries that attack us, and take care of our own. If an American private enterprise outside of our country wants protection, let them hire mercenaries. Why should our sons and daughters die for businessmen?

I don't believe you'd get the same quality and reliability of service, nor the same cost to the consumer if it was privatized. I think we are overlooking some important things in our quest to reform institutions we've always relied upon for service and quality. Sweeping and major change can prove to be a rocky road and might not actually be a savings to consumers in the long run.

VEEP? I might have to hire a hit man to get promoted. ;>

One of my top priorities would be to stop giving money to foreign countries that hates us! Take the money and feed the hungry children in the US and a bunch for education.

As for defense, there would be zero cuts. Even though Orbs would bring our soldiers home, we WILL have the best military in the world!
