Announcement
The JTI site has been bombed with spam all day Sunday and into today. There has been some sort of failure of Google's anti-spam measures. Most spam is still caught, or at least questioned, but too much is getting through. Because of this, we are not allowing anonymous comments until Google fixes the problem. Unfortunately, this also eliminates the option to type in a name and comment, such as jedwis does. At a minimum, you'll need an AIM, LiveJournal, WordPress, or TypePad ID to post comments. We're very sorry about this because the JTI stands for free speech. That has been destroyed by spambots from hell. We hope to re-enable anonymous posting as soon as possible.

Just heard from Jed. He wants to play. Even I had trouble getting the comment box to appear. What a shame that a few has to ruin it for others.
Speaking of people. Where did Logjam go? I miss that good ole Dane.
Logjam decided to leave the group some time ago.
Grr, most spammers come from Russia.
Just say NYET to spamers!!
I've added a little message to the box above the comment area. There used to be a way to block anonymous comments, but allow a typed in user name. I see that is no longer an option, it is all or nothing.
Jed might have to suffer withdrawals or figure out how to come up with a usable registered account. Sorry!
Well, that looks weird - Orbs and KK. Are you guys trying to tell us something?
I heard from Jed as well, I feel bad that something so useless as spam can make the world miserable :( seriously, what's the point to it, to any of it??
Kids with nothing better to do.

Used to be that Blogger's spam monitor would catch these unwanted posts and defer them to a spam folder to be moderated. They usually happened on older posts, so we could control what appeared through moderation. (basically background manual cleanup) Still a pain, but manageable.
Seems there is a problem or lapse in security now and these unwanted links and comments are posting on current blogs.
Without constantly monitoring each and every comment and every blog, they are becoming a huge nuisance.
Hopefully, this is temporary and we can revert back to how we had it.
It was just strange seeing your picture almost next to his. You know I had to make a wisecrack about that! I believe it was when Orbs couldn't post but his picture could.
cut all their fingers off at the knuckle including their thumbs..
You know you made the big times when the spammers catch on to you!
