I recognize the name. This is sad. The inappropriate (and violent) behavior exhibited by youth would astound you. Children who are classified and labeled have special "provisions" written into their educational plans, which make it impossible to teach the correlation between negative action and consequence. Schools are not what you and I experienced.
Laws bind schools to "educate every student," so basically kids learn they can pretty much run the show and the worst consequence is to get a free day or two off to lounge at home. After a certain number of these days, there is very little that can be done.
Then something like this, or worse, happens in the community. At least he didn't hurt someone else, which could have entirely happened. What a waste.
I don't condone what he did, but Is this reason to publicly humiliate him? What Is the benefit of this news, to remind all people not to masturbate In Public Library's? I also would like to commend the reporter for saying "Libary" most of the time she spoke. Perhaps the kid needs help? NOPE, lets humiliate him, and put him In jail. It's all horseshit. Just Sayin.
I was also disturbed by her saying libary.. As for the situation, yeah it's disturbing and completely unacceptable but was not necessary to get too much attention over it, Racine Journal Times would be enough.
Racine often makes the national news, usually for something like pedophilia. The Becker and Johnson cases have smeared Racine from coast to coast. The things that stick out in our city are the horrible criminals and horrible criminal justice system that we have. Wilbert Thomas is a prime example of judges gone wild. A murdering slug is given tons of press coverage and treated with kids gloves for fear of disturbing him. He is a local celebrity. That's what Racine is known for: sick crimes. Don't worry, though, because the John Dickert Channel 25 will blow smoke up everybody's asses and we'll believe his lies.
Do you think this situation would have drawn as much attention if he was caught in a furniture store or at a Laundromat?
The news was done in poor taste; there was no need to drag it out except for ratings. Reminds me of some of the Milwaukee and Chicago radio stations, they’re just as bad.
I think library access to free internet is why this story makes the news. You could say the same things about the park system, and other "free" (tax-payer supported) services.
People are fed up with the growing population who chooses to not learn and work to support themselves. The unlawful (drug) culture and the "I can be a superstar" notion without the work behind it needs to change. We still need safety nets, but it has gotten out of control.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, we will all lose if we discontinue to provide these quality of life services for all of us to enjoy. I wish I knew the answer as to how to balance this.
KK, I agree with you. It Is out of hand. Up here, our schools are going to "electronic education" I wonder how many computers the LIBARY will have to get to support this fantastic idea. It makes me sick. I don't know the answer either?
