Robert Johnson - "Crossroad"
I think that's his most famous composition. You can listen to all of his recordings here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HleLTn60BxE
They said he often played with his back to the audience so that no one could steal his licks.

Eric Clapton, and Cream did this one also. A fantastic tune.
That sounds like something Janis Joplin would sing.
Robert Johnson is truly among one of the blues greatest singers! His influence has reached among many artists. As Toad mentioned, Cream and Eric Clapton has covered Crossroads and well as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rush. Led Zeppelin did a cover of Travelin' Riverside Blues, also from Robert Johnson.
