  7. Hello. I'm having the worst time of my life, ever! Whaa-whaa!

My new used computer became thoroughly infected with malware, spyware, underwear, everything. I finally ended up reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling the operating system. However, because I was installing from an OEM disk burned for a Dell, it didn't contain the Dell drivers. I couldn't connect to the internet, no audio and shitty video.

This morning I went back to Milwaukee PC. I told them my woes and asked if they could download and install the drivers for me. He said yes, but the wait is one week. $40 for that and updating the operating system. I asked if he could download the drivers and burn them to CD for me. Sure, $20. That's what I did.

When I got home, though, the drivers didn't work. He gave me drivers for Vista instead of XP. So I had to go back out there again. The place is pretty far from my apartment. He gave me the right drivers. I installed them and everything worked fine, but the damn machine will not update from Microsoft. When I go to the site, the little busy bar keeps going and going and going and going. It's not connecting. I don't know why. Everything else works.

The version of IE on the install disk is so old that some sites don't recognize the browser, or say that it's unsupported. Thank God for Firefox.

I gotta get this thing updated. I'm also having truck trouble and it's going into the shop on Wednesday. I'm supposed to be packing for the move, but shit keeps happening.

At least I have a basic operating system, Norton Internet Security, and Firefox.
