I'm off to buy a new winter coat. I sat in something on the airport shuttle bus and I think it was tar or something. Can't get it out. Too bad it didn't happen near the shampoo bottle that managed to leak out onto my clothes in the suitcase. Oh well, the coat was over 10 years old so I get to go shopping. And then come home and continue putting up Christmas decorations.
Have a great day everyone. Sorry BLB. No furnace needed here as its in the 60's already. Winter storm possible Friday.
Hope the furnace repair and coat shopping go well.
I've had a heck of a time with my new computer and malware. It must have been infected in just the few minutes I was unprotected online downloading Norton Internet Security.
The one from hell is called Tube Dimmer and it reinstalls itself every time you restart the computer. Neither Norton nor Spybot Search & Destroy nor Spyware Blaster detected it. I finally downloaded Mslwarebytes Anti-Malware. That did it - removed 4 Trojans from my computer. It's free. Norton charges $75 a year and doesn't do the job.
Good Grief, orbs, tainted the new one already! Malwarebytes is what finally got rid of what infected me, in combo with the SuperAntiSpyware program. Can you still start in safemode on the new puter and rerun Malwarebytes to make sure it is completely gone?
Orbs - check out black Friday sales at Office Depot or Office Max for Norton. It's quite a bit cheaper then. It's the only thing hubby searches for in the sale ads.
Had great luck with finding a coat; got some other things and it came out to be $20 cheaper than the coat. I like good sales.
My Avast didn't find anything wrong, either, which really surprised me, since it has been an excellent program. I've added Adblock back on and that seems to help. Very frustrating when you get attacked.
Mary, I already subscribe to Norton. One purchase of Norton Internet Security is good for 3 PCs. My first and second computers are dead and have Norton on them. Those installs still count, so this is my third install.
kk, I used to have Malwarebytes on my other computer, but removed it when Norton said it conflicted with them. So far, so good with the new one.

I don't trust any of them. I don't like risking saying this, but since I switched to Apple, thanks to my brother giving me his I-Mac, I don't have the trouble? Microsoft seems to be a magnet for problems?

"Why aren't male lady bugs called gentleman bugs?"
Because the male bugs drink and beat the lady bugs. They're no gentlemen.
Aren't they called dudes?
Good morning everyone. Happy Weekend.
KK you're up way too early for the weekend.
good weather for the weekend so enjoy before shit hits the fan.
First day back and long work weekend. No heat... furnace broke!
I hate that!!!!!! Shit is hitting the fan...not even "hot shit"
dude bugs, I used to call my girls doodle bugs (no idea why), was I unknowingly calling them male ladybugs? :D

That was the result of a quick scan. I ran a full scan and it found 22 more Trojans. My God. I wonder if it was infected when I bought it?
Why didn't Norton or Spybot detect these?
Because they STINK, when you smash them. How do you tell a STINK BUG, from a LADY BUG? They are irritating.

Oh no, another Apple fan. My friend used to have all sorts of problems with his PCs. He went with Apple and he's been happy ever since.
Apple computers represent only 5% of the market. That's why virus creators more or less ignore them. They want to inflict as much damage as possible.
Speaking of viruses, I just watched this 60 Minutes segment on Stuxnet: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7413520n
