Local Loyalty - Hot Shop Glass

Welcome back to another week of this feature!
Today, brings us to a new find,

Hot Shop Glass
 239 Wisconsin Ave.
Check them out!

I didn't even know it existed and what an amazing, unique, awesome place!
They've been there for 8 years, and do glass blowing, classes, rent time and space to local and not so local artisans. When I went to see what they are all about, one guy was there working on making an ornament. The skill and talent that go into these creations is mind blowing, pun not originally intended! :)

They are open to the public Saturday's, from 10-4, and have workshops Thursday and Saturday nights. They offer classes that are 2 hours, by appointment, and you make (will assistance of course!) either an ornament or a paperweight.
They keep a molten glass furnace running 24 hours a day, every day. When I went, it was downright cold out and it was warm and toasty inside. I couldn't imagine working in there in the summer tho!
They can make custom gifts, light shades, just about anything.
They offer a gallery of gorgeous, unique things they've made for sale or just for drooling over, yes, yes I did! Everything is so pretty, it blew me away at the things they created.

They like to discover and help promote local artisans. The theme continues, that their goals very much include wanting to help support their neighboring businesses and support each other. It's such an awesome community down-town. They truly care for each other.

The 3 words (again, the stumper of a question) that were chosen -
1. HOT
2. Beautiful
3. Magical
I whole heartedly concur and am glad for the education I received and am thankful for the time they shared their time with me. Check them out, enjoy the heat this winter!

My fiancée gave me two tickets for a workshop a there couple of years ago.

We had a great time. We each made a paperweight and learned a lot.

I recommend it. However, I also recommend you do NOT go in the summertime cause it is hot.

I'd like to do it again.

I have a lot of colored glass, as it is so beautiful in the sunlight.
I would like to try to make a piece one day.

Thanks Lizardmom!

Sounds like a great place. I have never heard of it. Wish I would have known when I was still in WI!

Good job on these reviews, LM. Keep it up!
