Mine is black but sometimes he is more meth. Right now he is outside because he is scared of the washing machine. Go figure.

Meth labs are much more fun and energetic
Somehow I deleted my blog yesterday on the weekend blog after it took me pretty long to write.

How to deal with parents getting dementia was in there ,
Any ideas? It is hard.

What is with the Olympic show with the soldiers singing
" Staying up all night to get lucky" Weird....
Then a vodka commercial in great length..... Crazy stuff out there.

BLB - Patience, patience, patience. A lot easier said than done. Not too long after my aunt was diagnosed with dementia, it was Christmas. I sat next to her and I swear I had to tell her who her niece was 10 times. Patience.

And even though I didn't get to see her that much, when I did it was easy to see how that terrible disease progresses. They start out confused, then they lose any ability to care for themselves, then they lose the ability to talk, and the final stage is they are back to being babies again. I was home for a funeral and when I went to visit her she reacted to what I was doing. If I laughed, she laughed too. Sadly and gladly, she passed away about 3 weeks later.
I wish you all the best in dealing with this and remember, we are here for you.

It is very hard. Near the end, my mom swept in and out of reality. Sometimes she even realized it, and was embarrassed. She often mistook me for her sister and would get angry with me if I didn't know what she was talking about.

All you can do is love them, see that they are cared for and understand that it isn't really who they are inside.

Remember the times they cared for you, and forgive yourself for the impatience you feel. You will remember this time differently when the pressure is off of you.

We are here for you. One day at a time.

My mother kept her wits, but it was tragic to watch what age did to her otherwise. Macular degeneration led to blindness and that ruined her life.

I was always there for mom, but I wish I had been more tolerant and patient.
