Is this painfully obvious to everyone yet? Remember when large groups of concerned citizens were raisings these issues to Aldermen and the DA? It seems they were extremely negligent in their duties. Were they paid off too, or involved in any way, or just extremely negligent? What are they doing about it now?
ReplyDeleteThis was a RIGGED CONTRACT for hundreds of thousands of dollars to benefit the mayor's friends at the direct expense and rights violations of community members.
This will not end until they are all held accountable for their corruption. Do your job Aldermen and District Attorney. We are watching and waiting.
This is really troubling. These videos are clear evidence of wrong doing on behalf of the city. What it really comes down to is they just don't care about the law or what you think. This was a bid rigging by Dickert and his pals and now it's fallen flat on it's face and become a complete failure. This is a clear case of RICO and I predict the players in these videos will end up in prison and the city will lose everything. It's disgusting.
ReplyDeleteWhen things like the rigged contract for CAR25 are so blatant, you can only imagine what else they have done with other corrupt contracts and backroom deals. Anyone involved with the CAR25 bid rigging should be arrested.
ReplyDeleteOne friend of the Mayor writes the RFP, then another friend gets something wrong on the first round of proposals, so they redo the process and change things to fit another friend's business. Who submitted the third proposal that Ron Hart and Mayor Dickert were talking about as the reason they had to redo the RFP? Why did Sam Aiello retire in the middle of the process? Did he know something and get a gold parachute on his way out? Either way they just redid the RFP, gave their friends inside information and coaching based on the competing proposals, lied about sending out the second RFP to other companies, and didn't publish it with the other RFPs on the website.
They didn't follow any of the guidelines in the RFP and the Mayor interjected himself into the process to ensure the contract was forced through for his friends. They made up a special subcommittee of the Mayor's other friends including Mary Osterman to make up ratings based on false information, made numerous scoring errors and questionable notes, and misreported the information to the cable commission and city council. They lied about the chairman's role and objections to the process, and disregarded the community's objections and concerns about the process. They continued to lie and violate terms of the bidding process including continued communication and negotiation with the preselected winner. The mayor continued to interject himself into the process to influence votes and asked the bidders different questions during the voting process. They had staff and Aldermen lie about the funding and operations, and about the RFP process to influence the other city council members. They even violated rules in the final vote at city council. Not one single part of this process was done legally.
The preselected winners admitted to being coached through the process, the mayor and city officials admitted to coaching them through the process, and nothing was done properly in this process including missing paperwork and violations of numerous ordinances and laws. Rigging bids for hundreds of thousands of dollars is a crime, and this is just one of many.
They continue to slap the community in the face by providing obvious kickbacks along the way such as thousands in free services and advertising given to Mary Osterman, which is illegal in more ways than one, and asking for more money when they have generated zero revenues after promising to become self sustainable. Now another friend of the mayors is going to get a kickback in rent payments as they are attempting to move the channel to Mount Pleasant. They are also now proposing to charge other communities money to help fund their corruption.
It is all true.
What a shame that Dickert had to destroy a fully functioning, low cost, community cable access station.
ReplyDeleteIt's community cable access! It's non-commercial! It's purely local. It's viewership will always be low.
Then Ben Kasica of Skies Fall comes out and says, well, we won't be NBC.
No kidding.
It's community cable access.
Effing Morons!
