It was bound to happen. Two guys running around the north side robbing bars near closing time. I was hoping that one of the robbers would be the first one shot, but unfortunately, it was a customer. They took a shot at the bartender, too.
No guns allowed, imagine that.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the robbers couldn't read the sign.
ReplyDeleteI know, have the profile of a handgun in a red circle with a slash through it. Problem solved.
My condolences to the family.
I hope someone shoots both of these bastards in the face.
My bet is that they are reckless teens. My condolences to the family as well. Society needs to change. Parenting needs to change. Lawlessness abounds. And I disagree that more gun toting people are the answer.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet $$$$ that if they are caught we will find that they have criminal records going back to their early teens. Including multiple felonies and are currently on probation...
ReplyDeleteOrbs, not in the face. In the little head. Get them right where they live so they can't reproduce. They'll probably kill themselves.

ReplyDeleteMY BET, The symbol on the door, or the WORDS No gun's allowed meant NOTHING to some of the bars occupants, BUT If nobody Is there to shoot, what can you do? VERY rarely will someone hold a bar up with a bunch of people sitting In It. Racine Is going through the SAME thing It did In the early 70s when the economy was crap, and people needed money, but this Is the FIRST time In my memory that a PATRON was killed during a robbery. Perhaps he knew who they were? When I got held up as Harold's Tap the bar had 11 Patrons. While laying on the floor I looked at the robbers, and didn't recognize them, BUT I went all through grade school with one of them. I'm glad I didn't recognize him, or him me.

RACINE - Two men were killed execution-style at a Downtown tavern Monday night by a gunman who also left a bartender for dead.
An arrest was made in connection with the case shortly after the shootings.
What began as a robbery at Ron's Tavern, 509 Sixth St., turned deadly when the gunman apparently decided he didn't want to leave witnesses. He had all of the victims' money in hand, less than $300, when he shot them, police said.
Two male patrons, Donald J. Silvers Jr., 40, of 3314 Victory Drive, and Angelo Wiggins, 47, of 1619 Howe St., were killed by a gunshot to the head, reportedly as they lay face down on the tavern floor. After killing the men, the gunman then shot the 55-year-old bartender in the side of the face.
He said the bartender had given the robber what he demanded by removing the till from the cash register and laying it on the bar. Silvers and Wiggins, the only other people in the bar, had placed their wallets there too.
The assailant forced the two men to lie on the floor near the pool table on their bellies and shot them each in the head, then shot the bartender.
Tom Cloyd, Racine County chief deputy medical examiner, confirmed that the patrons were each killed by a shot in the head.
"He obviously didn't want to leave any witnesses, because he shot the bartender," Christensen said. "She went down as soon as she was hit; he thought she was dead."
However, the bartender was able to call police after being shot and give an account of the murders.
Linda was the Bartender.
Tricky Dicky, I remember that one, but forgot the two were patrons. I now remember, she lived, and the rotten eggs were caught and tried.
ReplyDelete“The bartender, she said (the two men walked in) shortly after the bar closed. They came in really quick, they pulled out their guns and asked her to (open the cash register),” he said. “She told them she was part of a cleaning service and didn’t know how to open the register. That was really smart.”
ReplyDeleteThe bartender told the group she was behind the bar, and the robbery and shooting occurred “within less than a minute. Between 30 to 40 seconds,” Moore said. They robbed the male customer and then fired two shots, he said.
“One bullet was meant for her, but missed her,” Moore said, adding the second bullet struck and killed the customer.
Smart?
“She told them she was part of a cleaning service and didn’t know how to open the register. That was really smart.”
More like dumb. Really dumb. That's probably why they got shot - because they don't play.
It's gotta be gardened gang members - with lots of experience. Stay away from the Bars. You don't need a DUI or to get robbed.Drinking at home is always safest.
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS...GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT.
ReplyDeleteNo sense in being a dead hero!
KK mentioned, Lawlessness abounds. And I disagree that more gun toting people are the answer. There is no doubt that lawlessness abounds, and the police can't stop it, they can only respond to it.
As for more gun toting people, I really don't know, but i believe the jury is still out on that one.
there is one state, and i can't remember which one where crime has dropped dramatically and it is claimed to be because of the amount of people who started to carry concealed weapons.
If you are going to carry a concealed weapon you better damn well know what you're doing.
