Hi Guys!!
Since we haven't done this feature in over a year,
Since we haven't done this feature in over a year,
I think we need to do it again.
New places have popped up,
New places have popped up,
we may have discovered places we didn't know
were there, or we hadn't tried until recently.
Let's kick off the nominating/voting with
who your favorite Italian restaurant is.
(Pizza will have it's own, so this is Italian food, overall)
Please vote now :)

My vote would have to go to Infusino's on Rapids. While I like Olive Garden, Infusino's seems more homey, and has a bigger variety. Their crabby chicken is awesome!
I don't live there so I don't get a vote but I just saw where Totero's is closing. I'd have to rate them best Italian in Racine.
you don't have to live here to vote, the place you nominate has to be here :)
I've never heard of Totero's, sounds like it's too late to try them :( so sad when places go out of business, it hurts
LM - It's on Mead St. close to where the old Case Foundry was. Home cooking. They are still open for lunch until the end of June. I don't know the cross st. except to tell you that you would turn right off of Racine St., (northbound) and it would take right to Toteros on the corner and then past the National Guard building, the community center and then the sewage plant. But, there is also a great view of the lake going that way as well.
Salute in downtown Racine.
I haven't been too happy with anything - in restaurant - lately. The take out Lasagna at Ferraros South is pretty good. It is the special on Saturday night. Portion and price are very reasonable and quality is usually good.
DeRango's in West Racine pan pizza is the best
Totero's is at Mead and 24 St. Very unassuming looking building. My father-in-law worked at Case and ate at Totero's many times. I ate there once, but it's so long ago that I don't remember much. I've heard many say Totero's is the best. If you Google them, you see a lot of 5 and 4 and 1/2 star ratings.
It's been awhile, but Mike & Angelos has the best ravioli.
Is Bruno's pizza on Lathrop still open?
I like them all, any of you buying?
Totero's had great food. I haven't been there in a long time. The place was extremely small. You needed to plan to be in the first sitting and hope you make it, or the wait was tremendous. I always felt rushed while eating, watching others standing in line... sometimes out the door at times. You also had to know their schedule. They are closed more than open.
Bernie's is on lathrop. They have the old time Brusha's pizza. (Ratings to come on the pizza blog)
That's right, it's Bernie's. He was the cook at Brusha's and then Mike & Angelo's.
Bernie holds the recipe for the (late) Brusha's and Mike & Angelo's, I spoke with his son and Bernie go fed up with the bullshit and opened their place on Lathrop, and it IS an excellent pizza.
