I think we are pretty damn good just the way we are.
I like It also, but kinda like the SPECIFIC topics asking for input a bit better. I know people don't like to talk about politics, but perhaps general questions about the "ACA" and other important issues might be fun? Personally I'm not real good at posting, but I would like to ask the question If people think the country Is going backward toward racism again? How about OPEN messages to our leaders In Washington? I really could think of lots of things, but I'm just ONE person.
I think we need to stop putting people down for what they post or comment on. Stop the negativity towards people. Other than that I think we are doing really good.
I would not change a thing. People have a right to post mostly everything that they want. People can also expect to get spanked or
ignored. That is the way the ball bounces, the cookie crumbles.
We are as great as a box of fluffy ducks! Don't change a thing, SHERIFF!
Toad, one person can make a difference.....begin
We have a good balance of fun posts, serious posts and reality.
We need more crazies like BLB and Mary to liven up the site.
Cygnus, Andromodo, need to stir the pot a little more frequently, its fun watching the nonsense from outer space.
The political scene should to be addressed on a regular basis, Orbs, timmy T and a few of us keep the tempo of the community on site already.
And finally we need more anonymouses to keep us on our toes.
Irregular cash for anyone who brings in new participants.
Onward bloggers!
I have only a simple idea that was fun.... all the times when you asked
for interaction was very fun.
The time we used the first name of the different bloggers on the site
to make an acrostic poem was indeed entertaining.
Personally, I don't like the anon posts. If you feel uncomfortable or out of character saying it with your profile post name, you probably shouldn't say it.
Sometimes I feel that only a few are carrying the weight. I wish more would post and even more who only read would comment. The site is only better with increased variety.
We should all make an effort to share the sheriff posts to our timeline on facebook. It increases views and clicks to this homepage. Consider it to be free and easy advertising to your friends.
Well, you don't like my posts?
How about my pillars?
Pickets?
Pockets?
Rockets?
Pocket Rocket?
Alrightyyyyyyyyyyy then, we found something you do like, thank goodness for mother nature.
Concerning political blogs, do you want more, less, or about the same as we have?
Good mixture already, the Racine Journal Times are slackers, have their political favorites and refuse to print critical news. So, if you don't like politics, don't read the post, somebody has to get the message out. Watch Casa Blanca to learn some history about the importance of dissemination of information.
It's hard to compete with Facebook...
Many of the personal blogs that I used to follow are now dead, collecting dust on the wayside. It seems that many writers don't have the time to spend an hour or so writing posts. I don't blame them, really. Life does get busy at times.
I know I should post more up here, but with the spring migration going strong now, it's hard to find time to do so. I should able to do more once it starts to wind down.
Anyways, what we can do to improve this site? I'd like to see more posts from other writers here. Write about anything!I'm interested about what YOU have to say! A variety is a good thing..
Other than that, it's all cool here!
I think we're pretty good the way we are. I think we have the right balance of fun, serious, political and checking in. I think it feels like we're in a lull, but I blame the never ending England-like weather that refuses to go away. Everybody I know is in a funk, and only warmth and sun will bring us out of it.
I think the race topic would be good. There are so many aspects to it, only the concern of trolling strangers turning it nasty keeps me from starting one.
We can address the trolls as they come
9:08. only reinforces my point. You probably shouldn't say it if you don't want to be identified. Those who speak about their prowess, most probably can't do more than that; therefore, I'm assuming more pea shooter than rocket. Admins have ways of knowing who is posting what... if they feel it worthy of their time.
Damn it, I just knock over my garbage can....gezzzzz, good thing there isn't any nasty stuff in there to clean up.
We could have "SLAM THE POLITICAIN DAY"
You could blog whatever you want about a person (which would be named) whether it be good or bad. For instance our Governor Scott Walker, to me he is an ass. although he has done a couple thing I like but the majority of his "moves" are not for the people of Wisconsin.
"Word of Mouth", word of mouth is HUGE and travels fast. Lizardmom has her post about local businesses which is great.
Up coming events. There are many, many thing going on in Racine which I seem to find out the day after. Church events, first Fridays, party on the square, there are days for kids at the zoo and the list goes on. I think it would be good for everyone to post an event they are aware of.
We had a calendar but it wasn't really working out. I think it would be easier of you post a blog (example) Party at KK's for the title then list the particulars, where and went, bring your own booze, soda and drugs, you know what mean. I could post it on Monday and if the event is Saturday, I could bump it up Friday as a reminder.
this one is a bitch (to me) reading about all the bullshit that is coming out of City Hall, it gets really, really old; but in the same turn ALL residents need to be reminded of the shit they are doing so we can vote them out because if we don't we have nothing to complain about.
To be continued... :)
Party at my place? You better bring a shovel or your mudjacking equipment. Those b#$%'s sprayed green paint on my sidewalk again. I swear it is revenge. I argued the tags on 2 squares because they really didn't meet the criteria a couple of years ago. I had the rest fixed $$$$$ Well.... THEY didn't forget! I'm half an inch low. Story of my life.

I don't dig digging...sorry kk.
Screw facebook, or any of the other social meddling sites. Anonymous's are a variety of people on the net. Often I will post under anonymous, anybody want to know why? I have been to a few hammer parties, but never a concrete moving party, I won't be making this one so let me know how it goes.
This is by far the best site in Racine because of it's inclusivity of all walks of life.
I/2 inch low, low of what?
and what is i/2 inch low anyway?
Is the paint green to remind you how much you have to PAY?
The city owns the sidewalk and make you pay for it, don't get no better than that.
I like "Slam the Politicians Day." A blog with a neutral post, and then anyone can comment on whatever they want about any politicians.
Do others like it? Tuesday mornings, perhaps?
The problem with upcoming events is, where do you find out about them? There seems to be no central source. In our Local News list on the sidebar, we have a link to the Journal Times Calendar of Upcoming Events: http://journaltimes.com/calendar/
I think that if we want to hear about more local events, then we need to toot our horn loudly and email organizations for updates.
I really like the thought of somebody posting upcoming events. I just found out that about the Peep exhibit, of course, too late to go, just like last year. I think we miss out on a lot of things because we just don't know about them til they're over. I'm not good at looking up calendars consistently. Part of our description is 'what's happening in Racine..'
Yo irregulars, how would you like a weekly post discussing the universe. of course it would also include ms and mr universe to keep things enlightened.
Damn, there was pro wrestling at Memorial Hall last night and I didn't know about it. This is getting critical.
I think you all are great. I am glad to be a small part of the family.
Even if I can't comment or post, I read and have a laugh every day. I hope that some of my little contributions, have been accepted.
I also have learned alot. I can tell it is hard to continue to come up with ideas to post, but I really enjoy the variety of topics you all come up with.
I appreciate the job the Sheriff does, coming up with a new cartoon for every day of the week, that can not be easy.
I know I stink at bedtime games...
Keep up the good work everyone.
Tuesdays, for me, work for "slam the politicians"
Jed...we all really stink at bedtime games. Don't feel bad.
Every day is slam the politician
day!! Bring it on.
In fact any evil should be slammed starting from bottom to top of
mankind. Not just politicians.
