Is it really that green? It looks like auto coolant.

That looks nasty. I don't remember it ever being green.

Yes, It's green like that now, I just saw it looking that way yesterday. It's algae related for sure.

Looks like something that I leave shortly after I drink a Monster Energy Drink.

When you gotta go, you gotta go!

HoHoHo Yellow Snow

Open or not... I don't think anyone should be dipping their toes into THAT! My first thought was exactly what Mary said, NASTY!

We have what the City calls a LAKE at the edge of town, that turns into the Lemonweir River. The entire lake, called Lake Decorah turns GREEN on top about this time of year. The city was going to put a beach along the Southern shore that runs along highway 12/16 but for some reason put It on hold, Ha, Ha. I suspect the steady stream of stuff coming out of the manufacturing plants (Water Soluble, Ha, Ha) was of concern? People fish In It all year, but like kk say's, like Lake Michigan, I wouldn't stick a toe In, let alone eat a fish out of that swamp.

I'm getting alerts, saying we have high wave, rip wave and lakeshore wave warnings in effect. The water is cold in the middle of summer. Only foolish people would venture into the water with conditions like this.

I've been noticing this stuff at Shoop Park for some time now. It's algae. The stuff smells bad and looks gross. All I could think of is it could provide good food supply and habitat for the shorebirds' arrival in the fall.
