Well Irregulars, I don't know exactly when it happened, but it would appear I am becoming a country girl. I've told you about Hawthorne Leghorn and the girls, Daffy Duck and the three Amigo's next door. Yesterday I awoke to find a possum in our yard. Last night I woke up and looked out the window and what did I see? By the big light at the end of the back yard, I saw a furry critter moving around. As he made his way down the tree, another one appeared. And another. They kept coming. It was a family of raccoons. I know this because the momma was the last and she was much bigger than the others. There were six of them. I couldn't believe it. And of course this morning when I got up I could hear Hawthorne cockadoodling away. Gee, I always thought of myself as a city girl.
You can keep the critters, Ellie Mae. I was scared back into the house by a raccoon procession one night. Sounds like your neighborhood is going to pot, lol.
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip That started from this tropic port Aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailing man, The skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day For a three hour tour, a three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough, The tiny ship was tossed, If not for the courage of the fearless crew The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost.
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle With Gilligan The Skipper too, The millionaire and his wife, The movie star The professor and Mary Ann, Here on Gilligans Isle.
So this is the tale of the castaways, They're here for a long, long time, They'll have to make the best of things, It's an uphill climb.
The first mate and the Skipper too, Will do their very best, To make the others comfortable, In the tropic island nest.
No phone, no lights no motor cars, Not a single luxury, Like Robinson Crusoe, As primative as can be.
So join us here each week my friends, You're sure to get a smile, From seven stranded castaways, Here on "Gilligan's Isle."
For the record, no babies were born on the island, must have been the wisdom of the professor.

Well Ellie Mae those southern boys they know how to skin those Raccoons and cook them up. You could have a real feast walking around your backyard.
All I have is a baby bunny. He or she has been around for about 3 weeks now.
I've heard from others that racoons make good eating.
Just wait til Granny starts boiling her mash for her "rheumatism medicine."
"Y'all come back now, y'hear?"
In keeping up with this, there was a story this morning about a whale watching boat that got tangled and was out all night.
One of the gentlemen interviewed said, "we were out on a three hour tour, a three hour tour".
Anyone?????
