Lots of learning yesterday. Crashed early on the couch... then up all night. Busy weekend, extra visitor in the house. I'll be crawling the carpets. :)

Lisa Simpson was always my favorite. Her character was deep.

Well Irregulars it seems like Old McDonalds farm has another addition. While checking on the chicken that is in my yard, I peeked through the fence and what did I see? A miniature Shetland Pony. Yes, you read right, a pony.
I seriously don't know what to say. Except that the chicken is stressing because he can hear his friends on the other side of the fence. I left a note last night as they were gone but I believe a visit will be in order.

OKIE, How neat. We can't have Chickens here. Why people would want to deal with Chickens for Egg's Is a mystery to me. They only cost just over a buck at the Kwik Trip. Anyhow, I think I will talk my daughter into getting a Mine Shetland Pony. She has a nice big yard. I could ride Winnie, but she rarely get's her ass up off of the pillow she sleeps on. Honest Injun, she Is the most amazing BIG dog I have ever had. She Is a Fraidy Cat. It must be Duck/Bird killing season? She doesn't like the sound of the illegal shotgun blasts on the lake at the back end of my property. I keep complaining to the cops, but they don't do shit, because, he shoots them too from his property on the other side of the lake. Like they say. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.

I had to work a 10 hour shift, ended up almost 10 1/2 hours...... I'm beat... but it wasn't horrible, definitely could have been way worse! Fire safety day - man, does Racine have some cool tactical vehicles! Swat was there, K9 unit, fire trucks, ambulances, awesome turn out, cool event!

Irregulars I need some advice. I'm a bit peeved at my neighbor. After no response to my note or visit, I let it rest. Mainly because we had company (he was amused) and it was almost nap time.
Another buddy stopped by and I was informed he had thrown the chicken over the fence. I went to check on the chicken and what did I see? Another dog, dalmatian puppy. And what was he doing, he was after the chicken.
I am teed off over no response and what appears to be possible neglect. Even if she didn't get my note or hear the doorbell, did she not feed her pets. If she did she would have known the wire was off one coup and one was missing. With this new dog and horse I'm tempted to go to my other next door neighbor who is a councilman and turn her in. If your going to have animals you have to care for them. Not just buy them because "my daughter wanted it."
I'm torn.

make chicken soup and adopt the dog, if she keeps chucking chickens over the fence, I know how to can chicken meat :) I can give you instructions! seriously tho (after you make the chicken soup..) talk to the other neighbor and ask his opinion, maybe he'll just 'handle it' from there

Dang, i wish i had a neighbor tossing chickens in my yard; in less then a hour it would be in the freezer.

We raised chickens when we lived on the farm. Dad butchered them, Mom plucked them. We ate them.

Talk to your councilman or alderman and see what can be done.

I have a buddy whose neighbors have a super bright light aimed at his home at night. He and friends like to sit in the yard at night, but the light ruins it. (His yard, btw, should be on the garden tour. It's beautiful.) He's talking to his alderman and they're seeing what can be worked out.

LM, your comment was hilarious.

I had neighbors who were neglecting animals. The police were out, the animal advocates were out. No one did a Damn thing, including my alderman.

Ponies put you into a whole different league, though. Start with the other neighbor then go to your alderman. Someone has to be able to do something.

Thanks guys. LM you comment was hilarious.

chicken doesn't come any fresher than that! and it's delivered!

OKIE, Indeed. Go to your Councilman. If something get's done I'll be surprised. BTW. English Mastiff's eat chickens WHOLE. You would have to take the feathers off though, but that's just a bucket of hot water.
