That's pretty funny. I have to squeeze laundry, cleaning the house and cooking for the next week into there, too. Usually that comes out of the sleep circles, not the Internet ones. :)
talk about timing, I slept like crazy and it was wonderful. I woke up 7:30 with a killer headache, took 4 advil and went back to bed, got up at 11:30, couldn't believe it (went to bed at 9 last night). I feel so well rested I wish I could repeat that every night! Orbs, please check in, we're worried about Charlie
Lizardmom, I'm glad you got some good sleep. Nothing like it.
Charlie's good. I wrote about his visit earlier, but I wasn't signed in and the computer lost the words. I said screw it and took a nap.
It took 3 of us at the vet to get Charlie out of the carrier. The vet thinks the store is just that, a sore he picked up while playing or something. He said the hair loss around the sore is probably from Charlie scratching it, possibly infecting it more.
The vet offered me antibiotic pills or an injection. The pills would have to be rammed down Charlie's throat every day. I chose the injection.
They also have to give him a rabies shot by law. I told them that I'm more likely to get rabies than Charlie.
Anyway, the total was $130 (thank God for plastic).
If he doesn't heal up in 2 weeks, or it gets worse, I'm supposed to call the vet again.
First thing I thought when I saw the wound was "Playing with Nipper again." Nipper is the cat who used to live next door to us at the last apartment. He and Charlie would play and it would get rough occasionally.
Then I remembered that Charlie hasn't seen Nipper in almost a year. But the vet said the sore has all the markings of a wound he has been scratching at.
Charlie's not the least bit affected if you look at the wound or even touch. The vet squeezed the hell out of it.
If this isn't it, then we start looking at feline skin disorders.
that seem like it for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat interrupted my sleep was a rescheduled nail appointment. Out of bed before 8:00 on the weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh the injustice.

Thanks for the update Orbs.
ReplyDeleteCharlie says thanks to all of you for your well wishes.
ReplyDeleteWe've all been concerned. Glad the vet was able to discern that it wasn't serious. Get well Charlie!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Charlie...glad it appears to be relatively minor.
