Just Got My First Political Phone Call Of The Season
A robocall. I stupidly answered it.
From now through the spring elections, we're going to be bombarded with information.
Most of it will be lies.

"Laundry Love Coming to Hospitality Center of Racine"
From Racine County Eye:
By Heather Asiyanbi in Community · August 8, 201
"A new type of ministry is currently being organized that aims to help further lift up the Racine area’s homeless through what is, for most of us, the everyday act of laundry.
"Laundry Love is a fairly simple program: volunteers take over a local laundromat – in one city they choose the slowest day of the week – and they pay for both the washing and drying of homeless individuals’ clothes.
"In the video accompanying this story, Laundry Love is described as both a way to connect and build relationships between the poor and the community and as a 'modern day foot washing.'”

I've known bars that physically connected to a laundromat. Why not churches, too?

Four for Fridays
Hello everyone and welcome back! It has been one of those monotonous weeks. The same old, same old type of stuff. Anyways, your questions...
1) What can 15 cents can buy you these days?
2) What kind of television set do you have?
3) How big is your DVD collection?
4) What do you think is the most difficult sport?
Enjoy your weekend!

"Police: Naked Man Cited, Admits Drinking Problem"
Credit: Bob Roberts Online |
By Heather Asiyanbi in Crime · August 5, 2014
"Racine police say a 45-year-old man is facing a misdemeanor charge of lewd behavior after neighbors reported him repeatedly for walking around his northside neighborhood naked.
"David Stelmack, of Racine, was charged Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court with one misdemeanor count of lewd and lascivious behavior. If convicted, he could face up to 90 days in jail and/or up to $1,000 in fines.
"According to the criminal complaint, officers were called at 6:54 p.m. Monday to the 3600 block of St. Clair for a report of a naked man walking around drunk. When police arrived, neighbors said Stelmack was walking around drunk, naked and causing problems. Officers had been called to the same address earlier in the day for a similar incident."

Aw, such sweet little pussycats.
Dear Madame Zoltar
Hello, my cool cucumbers (pickles?)! How are you?
If this weather is any indication of the winter to come, we’re in for it
again. I love the cool days and nights,
though.
A friend told me yesterday that we’re down about 2 inches of
water from normal. I thought our rainy
spring took care of that. In fact, the Journal
Times had an article on how the excessive water was hurting crops: http://journaltimes.com/news/local/high-rainfall-damages-crops/article_22e45ec2-ff8f-5590-82f2-43f71634a0f5.html Oops, that was Burlington,
and less than a month ago. My friend
says he is watering his garden.
Something’s not right. Actually,
we’ve been saying that for some time now.
As some of you may have noticed, most of my blogs before
last week have had my profile picture removed.
The administrators believe that this is part of a bigger problem they
recently had in signing in to Blogger and the use of non-gmail email
accounts. Sign in, schmign in! I recognize the work of my archenemy, Lady
Cassandra. She and I once were friends,
but I broke it off after I caught her in bed with my then-husband. She still pulls childish pranks like the
deleting of my picture. I bet she’s behind it.
The Green Bay Packers announced that they will induct Brett
Favre into the Packers Hall of Fame sometime next year. How do you feel about that? Yes?
No? You don’t know? He did lead the Packers to many wins. But I resent everything that happened after
Favre first “retired.” Too bad we won’t
see him against Rodgers again. I guess I
really don’t care. I want to know who’s
playing this year. If Rodgers is as strong as they say he looks,
Super Bowl here we come.
Here’s a cute video that I found:
Thank you, my dears, for stopping by to read my blog. I love you all!

Enjoy the weather and have fun, everybody. Protect your skin and eyes from the sun to
avoid future complications. The next
generation will probably never leave home.
Exenterate!

"Microsoft to give away Windows 9 for free to Vista, XP users?"
"Could Microsoft go as far as giving Windows 9 away for free to Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 users? This may well be the case as the focus moves away from Windows 8 towards its successor, which is expected to land in spring 2015.
"In a blog post, ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley cites rumours that Microsoft could be offering "some kind deal" to users of the three operating systems to entice them to move away from legacy platforms. Such a deal, she writes, could be in the form of a free upgrade.
"Microsoft has offered such deals to kickstart transitions from older platforms to newer ones in the past, but given the large contingent of Windows XP users out there, a freebie might lure them to Windows 9 - rather than Google Chrome or Apple's OS X."

But wouldn't that piss off all the people who paid for Windows 8?

Inquiring minds...
THIS is Harry, the feathered version.
THIS Harry, is a juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron.
Drew was able to get these amazing pictures for us.
Drew and THB came to our rescue and ID'd this guy, who
was hanging around a lagoon for a couple hours
when my sister and I were down there
this past Monday.
Not to be confused with our own featherless "Harry"...
Guess there can't be only one, sorry!
