From The Journal Times.com:
"RACINE — The city
will end up footing part of the bill for a roundabout at Hamilton Street
and Douglas Avenue when a partial reconstruction of Highway 32 takes
place in 2017.
"The City Council voted 7-5 on Tuesday night at City
Hall, 730 Washington Ave., to pick up $262,612 of the cost for putting
in the traffic circle after state transportation officials ruled the
project unwarranted. Aldermen Melissa Kaprelian-Becker, Mike Shields,
Eddie Diehl, Ron Hart and Q.A. Shakoor II, voted against the move."

Another colossal waste of tax dollars. I've driven through that intersection many, many times. A roundabout is uncalled for. Maybe the police who sit and talk in the parking lot on the southeast corner could do some traffic control?
