  2. I've never used a pressure cookies for canning. Did it speed up the process?

    I gave all my canning stuff to my cousin. He sends me salsa every year! Seemed like a deal to me!

  3. Morning. Yesterday when I got home I noticed more "wing shadows" on my back door. My door has blinds in it and every day I open them so that there are no blinds showing. Apparently the birds think they can fly through which of course, they can't. So now I've had to pull the blinds down which is okay, I guess.

    In other news, we had asparagus from the garden last night and it was fabulous.

    Another day in the 80's. Ahhh..

  4. Beejay, some things need to be pressure canned, others are fine via hot water bath, depends on acidity. Tomato sauces and BBQ sauces, are generally hot water processed. Anything with meat or low acidity, has to be pressure canned or it will go bad. I have the Ball "bible", it's a massive canning guide, it can get you thru anything you could possibly want to can, including wild game@!

  7. Did someone mention cookies? I'm still working on a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting I made over the weekend. I like a good, free car wash. Spring is supposed to be full of them.

  8. I made banana bread for the first time...don't know what i did but the garbage disposer ate it up fast.

    Maybe I'll try cookies next time
