I understand that someone feels that way. What I don't understand is the need to make it so public, so sensational. Maybe he/she feels redemption and is trying to change public opinion so others aren't hurt like he was?

I think he had no choice but to go public, only because of the reality show. That family is so media hungry it's scary. There are always reporters tailing them.

I too don't understand it, but I have to defend her right to do it. The best part of this is we have now opened up a whole new dialog.

And on an odd note, there will always be respect for him as he was an Olympian.

I have a lot of trans friends in my life right now who are thrilled with the publicity this is receiving as it brings their stories and issues into the spotlight. I proudly stand by them and support their desire to be accepted for who they are.

Toad, I will tell you who they are: pretty damn good friends of mine and fine people to boot. I don't use harsh words often,but "What's funnier than a guy turned into a woman?" is a downright misogynistic sentiment. You seem to have no understanding of the issues and no desire to learn so any attempt to educate would be futile.
