Yesterday prior to going to the lake I made hummingbird food. Unfortunately it wasn't cooled before we left so I couldn't put it in the feeder. Last night husband walked by the back door and a hummingbird was hovering. I immediately put the feeder back out and the hummingbird was happy. Me too as it was the first one I've seen in a while. I had thought that with all the birds in the yard the hummingbirds were staying away. That being said, August is when they start fattening up for their long road home.
