I was supposed to be a 5 this morning. I woke to a text from the opener that he doesn't have an opener... so can I come as soon as possible... oh sure.... why not.... after some caffeine!
ok, need to clarify, the text didn't wake me, my sinuses did, earlier than I planned on waking. I heard the vibration of the alert, so checked my phone, that I keep in the office. I don't hear the home phone or my cell when I'm in bed. Lucky for him, I was able to get there early enough to do my usual thing while he opened grill. we pulled it off flawlessly :)
A perk of living here: I went to Jiffy Lube today for an oil change. As the guy entered me into the "system," he said, "Oh, you live in the same apartment building as my girlfriend. That's good for $10 off."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied. He said his girlfriend had moved in recently and they both like the place. He said this was his way to "promote" living here.
Wow.
Another thing I didn't expect: mine was the only vehicle there. Last time I stopped by, they had a 2 hour wait ("Jiffy?"). So I stopped back today. All of the technicians swarmed over my truck. I'd barely sat down after being entered into the "system," when my truck was ready.
Then they escort you to your vehicle. If I could afford it, I'd tip them.

If someone is phoning me or texting before the sun comes up, there better be someone dying.
So glad the storm missed us. We never get this lucky... (looking over my shoulder)
There is nothing like having the crap scared out of you by an early morning phone call waking you from a deep sleep.
You guys have been kind of lucky so far this year. I won't say any more about that.
Off to get my nails done and that is all I have planned for today. Maybe some shredding later as I'm trying to get rid of junk.
Stay warm.
