I'm up far earlier than planned, but I "went" to bed far earlier than expected. I was so tired, I just wanted to lay down for about an hour or so at 5:30 last night. I woke at 2am...nope, refused to get up and stayed put til 7. Guess it will be a productive day, as I have much more of it than I thought I would :) stay warm, gang!
I wish I could give you guys our weather. The good news is we are almost half way through February which means March is right around the corner. The frigid corner.
Stay warm guys.
LM - this is for you. I don't know why. This morning as I headed to the other room to get ready I noticed one of the animals had thrown up. As I was down there cleaning I noticed the edges of the floor were nasty. So in keeping up with your "cleaning sense", I have decided to go buy knee pads and then start cleaning the floors on my hands and knees. When that will happen, I don't know, but I'll be ready. Now I'm depressed.
I hate when it gets to the hands and knees cleaning stage. One good thing about having little ones visiting every now and then... you have to pay attention to the floors, before they visit.... AND after they leave.
The sky is vivid blue and the sun is shining. So beautiful! What a liar the weather can be. It is diggety cold out there.
All calls for Mr. Too-oad. Stay inside and play with us. Hope your back is getting better!
Well, my dear friend, It's better than the middle of the night. I got up too much yesterday. About the DEEP cleaning, my EX sister in law, wouldn't even let her kids crawl or play on the carpeting In our family home. My Dad never did really like her. She had REALLY thin lip, almost invisible, so he called her "NO LIPS" About the sky. It's so blue, It's amazing. Looks so nice, but It's only FIVE degrees. BTW, Thank You for asking about my back.
Hello to all.... just wondering how everyone is doing! Haven't stopped into JTI for a while. Sorry about our friend's (SER) passing. Just in case any of you are wondering about me... Nothing much has changed except my mom is now on hospice with severe anemia and bladder cancer; I work at my jobs to a bare minimum just to keep my foot in the doors. On the positive side I had another granddaughter who is now coming up to her first birthday and so cute. AND ....My dog "accidentally" mated with my other dog and now I have a beautiful litter of CHIWEENIES. Next week they will be six weeks old. One pretty blonde female left! Any takers?
BLB, I'm so sorry about your mom. I knew nothing of what hospice was all about until my mom in law this fall. We knew she was not well, but the sudden down turn was unbelievable. I got there the day she did the sudden turn in the morning. The hospice guy was in her room, just sitting with her. He told me what happened. he explained things so well. They were on call all hours of the day for us, spend incredible amounts of time with us and were beyond amazing and comforting. I couldn't imagine the final 2 weeks without them. So sad. I don't know how they do it, I would get so attached, and to be in a field where such sadness and loss is an everyday thing, they are saints for sure!
As for being up early, it must have been the day for it. I did the same thing, crashed way too early last night. Around 4 am, I woke after a very strange dream. It was so vivid and troubling, I knew there was no more sleeping after that. Oh well, they say as you get older, you need less sleep. There are weeks where I live off of 4 hours a night, which is definitely not enough.
BLB, so sorry to hear about your mother. Most of the Irregulars have been through the pain you are going through. It is an extremely difficult time. Our sincere thoughts are with you. Thank you for mentioning our dear friend, SER. We miss his humor, his antics, but most of all, his company. I think about him every day. He was a great guy, and a special friend.
BLB, sorry about your mom. This is what the baby boom can expect: taking care of your parents in their later years. Nature is nasty: someone can have a clear mind but still be beset by numerous physical afflictions. "Hope I die before I get old." Wait, I'm already old.
Yes we are all right in that respect of taking care of elderly parents. What a ride it has been and is still not over. I WATCH HER MOODS, HER LONELINESS, AND her asking me to help her die. She is 85 and has been with me for 2 years (almost). I can't honestly tell her of any reasons to live other than watching her great grandchildren grow up a bit. But they are not here everyday and if they were, it would be too much for her, as they are active toddlers. But when they are not here she is always in pain and talking about death. I always thought I was very good at talking about death, BUT I am totally helpless, underspoken, and shitty.
Thank you for listening and responding. I hate getting old...more ailments every year!
BLB- We are so sorry to hear about your mom. I know how hard it is for you to be taking care of her and trying to do things that you need to get done. If you need someone to talk to do not hesitate to call we are here for you.
BL. Basketcase, Nothing really prepares you for this time, other than time. As the time goes by I found It easier to understand, just how difficult life can be. When the time was very near, I was ready for my loss, and knew my Mom would be MUCH happier If she knew we were able to continue on without her, and remember those times when she spent her life making you the person you are today. Through all of her sad day's, I'm certain she has good day's, and all you can do Is hope for more good than bad. We can't change old age, which Is why we should live life to the fullest while we can (I wish) I think of my dying oldest sisters expression " old age ain't for sissies " and It holds so true. Hang In there, you were caring enough to take her In for nearly 2 years, which Is an extraordinary gift.
Thanks to all for your kind words! I really do appreciate them! I always wonder if I should act Diffently but my inner voice tells me to let nature take it's course.

SER loved the jokes. I miss him, too.
