Four for Fridays!
This week has gone by really fast for me and now it is time to travel back and forth to Whitewater to move my daughter home for the summer. I am going to miss having a nice and peaceful house. I am up early to take Drew to work and go to Whitewater to get the first load to bring back. Here are your questions.
1) Have you talked to someone in charge at a college for your kids and thought you were doing the right thing helping them out?
2) Did you ever attend any dances when you were in school?
3) Do you feel that some days you never have time for yourself because you are doing things for everyone else?
4) Do you have any plans for Mother's Day?
Have a great weekend everyone!

Dear Madame Zoltar
Hello, my chickadees! How are you? Where did the past two weeks go? To hell, it seems. Oh my. Well, I'm back for a repeat performance. Wouldn't it be nice if today's temperatures did a repeat performance of yesterday's? "They" say it's not in the cards, or Ouija board, or whatever they're using to predict the weather these days. They're probably divining the weather from yak poop. It may be cool, but we're well into spring. This is a very beautiful time of year with trees, shrubs, and other plants flowering. Ms. THB knows about this well. She "stalks" the wily wildflowers and brings them to us. The birds that Mr. Drewzepmeister blogs about add to the beauty and sound of spring. As far as I'm concerned, this is as good as it gets. Summer has warmer temperatures, but it doesn't have the bursts of color that spring has. And you can still get a good night's sleep without summer's heat and humidity.
Don't forget that this Friday, May 6, is May's First Friday in Downtown Racine. With warming temperatures, more and more people attend the monthly event. Just be sure that if you're going to be doing any drinking that you have a designated driver with you. Let's hope this is a good one.
Speaking of downtown, I read the news about the second loan extension requested from the city by the developer of Machinery Row. Already you can smell the stink in the air, and it isn't coming from the river. Why do we taxpayers have to watch our money go down failed real estate hole after hole? Our Mr. Mayor Dickert seems to love playing real-life Monopoly. So much money is given to our "developers" and their henchmen that it's obscene. Meanwhile, the poor areas of Racine get poorer, and the crime-ridden areas of Racine get more crime. Maybe the city should take down all the streetlights in the ghettos to save money. And traffic signals, get rid of them, too. The city will save gobs of money. I'm calling my alderman and suggesting this. Too bad we can't take down the ghettos' sunlight, too, and somehow make money from that.
Oh, please, of course I'm kidding. Gruesome, kind of, but not too far from the truth. Throughout history, the poorest have carried the richest on their backs. People tend to forget that this little experiment in democracy, where "all men are created equal," is the anomaly to the rest of history, and not the other way around. Slavery has been with us for thousands of years. That's one hell of a cancer.
Here's another item that hits the poorest the hardest: the lottery. I must admit to buying a Powerball ticket yesterday because of all the hoopla about the prize drawing tonight. Far, far more poor people than rich squander their money on the lottery. I believe the lottery offers some hope to the hopeless. Unfortunately, it's false hope. Just one more rip-off of the poor. Like alcohol and drugs. Like cigarettes. Like whatever scam "The Man" comes up with next.
Oh dear, I think I had a 60's flashback. There just seemed to be so much more hope back then than now. We, as a people, were much more innocent back then. Many people say that the assassination of John F. Kennedy marked the beginning of the end of that innocence. By the time the Vietnam War sputtered to an end, we had been dragged through the blood and guts of thousands of young men. TV brought it right into our living rooms. Bye-bye, innocence! Hello, hell.
My, what's gotten into me? I better stop before I work myself up into a frenzy. A frenzied psychic is not something you want to experience.
Thank you, thank you, my dear, dear readers! I love you so much. If I loved you any more, it would probably be illegal. Ha-ha! Isn't that the way it goes? I love anyone willing to take the time to read my blog. (Psst. Actually, I love the whole world, but don't tell anyone.) I've loved the JT Irregulars ever since it first appeared. Thank you for everything you've done for me.
True or False: If you remember the 60's, you weren't there. Ask: madamezoltar@jtirregulars.com
Once again, from the bottom of my heart, I love you all. Peace to all. Serenity to all. We are family. We are the JT Irregulars. You can knock us down, but we get right back up again.

Evil Weather?
Just called up the Weather Underground and figured I should check in to see what is going on up there!
Birds
This past Sunday Drew and I took a trip up to Horicon Marsh in Lomira Wi. It was drizzling on the way up there by the sun did come out later. We seen a lot of different birds but some were hard to get pictures of because of the way the lighting was. We did get some really good pictures and I am going to share them with everyone. I hope everyone will enjoy these pictures.
This is a picture of a Canada Gosling yes they are already here and I just thought this picture was so cute.
This is a picture of a Dunlin I picked this picture because it is a very different type of bird.
This is a picture of a Hooded Merganser this was one I thought was cute.
This is a picture of a Male Ruddy Duck I just thought this one was really different with the blue beak.
This is a picture of a American Bittern they blend in really good with the weeds. I call him my nemesis because I have not seen one for a couple of years I have heard them. They are very sneaky because they stand so still when people are around.

While out birding!
This past Friday Drew and I went out to Kenosha County by Des Plaines River on Hwy N in the town of Paris birding we seen a house that had been on fire. We had been out that was the week before and the was was fine. We stopped to take pictures on the way back and by the smell you could tell that is had just happened recently. This was just weird for Drew and I to see since we do go down that road very often to get pictures of birds.
I looked it up and come to find out that the house was on fire Friday morning around 5am. I guess this was a real bad fire they had to call in nine fire departments including Bristol, Pleasant Prairie, Kenosha, Kansasville, Somers, Newport, Caledonia, South Shore and Union Grove. On this property they had a fire back in February the barn was on fire. From what the article said the owners live out of state. There was no one in the house at the time and it is still under investigation.
Here are some pictures of the house.

Identity crisis
Orbs's blog about friendships got me thinking.
I have friends but only a few that I feel truly close to, and even they don't know everything about me.
In fact, I only have 2 friends and my hubby that know pretty much everything about me.
When our youngest was in 2nd or 3rd grade, she experienced severe headaches, and we could not find the root cause of the problem. We had her thru so many tests, including psychological, where even the hubby and myself had to answer questionnaires.
His came back that he's a realist. Mine came back that I had a Pollyanna complex. Seriously??
The questions were worded far more ominously than I felt was warranted, so I answered accordingly.
No, I do not see everything positively, but I refuse to see everything negatively and without hope.
I did not feel that it understood me at all.
Orbs' friend blog made me question exactly how I do define it and even define myself.
Recent events have caused us to question who we are here, what we want, what we want to be, how we want to connect and stay connected. It made me actually feel like I hadn't a clue. I don't like change. I don't like feeling unsettled. It shakes me and makes me uneasy.
I am not ready to disconnect yet. I don't know what our future here looks like but I want to still see you all. This is one anchor that keeps me steady, and I need it.
