I am sorry I am posting this late this morning I had to go and do some errands because we are going up north again. This time we are moving my older daughter and we are going to stay at Drew's parents house. This is going to be a busy weekend but nice to see my two older kids, grandkids and Drew's parents.

I like this guy.  Having had 12 years of Catholic schooling, I've seen a few popes.  Pope Francis is the best of them by far.  He has repeatedly apologized and asked for forgiveness from those abused by the Church.  He smiles a lot and likes to wander out ihto the crowds.  He constantly stresses the work of Jesus Christ with the sick and the poor.  And he'll wear a sombrero to show to people that he is one of them.   Thank God, er, Pope Francis, um, whoever.

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my do-bees and don't-bees!  How are you?  Bees are in decline everywhere.  Bees do so much pollinating of crops, etc.  If we lose them, we lose a major part of our food production and distribution.  While many say pollution and the stress on their habitats are keeping bee numbers down, I think it's a plot by UFOs to starve us out of our planet.  Don't laugh.  I've had a lot worse than little green men appear at my door at 3 AM.  Whatever the cause of these bees 'decline, we must find it or pay through the nose for bee pollinated foods and flora.  Read up on building a bee friendly backyard.  Let's march on Congress saying that we want a more bee friendly environment in the USA.  I think releasing a thousand honey bees in the halls of Congress is a good way to put an exclamation point on our demands.

How about the announcement from Mr. Mayor Lying John that he's stepping down as mayor in the summer?  By then, his hand-picked, thrice-fired choice for City Administrator will be there to step up as temporary mayor.  I wouldn't be surprised if the mayor is receiving kickbacks on this even after he's left office.  Fine work, gentleman.

Here's a video from the "Talking Racine" guys.  It should be shown hourly on local TV and video outlets.  



Tax dollars bought these properties, but they don't belong to us.  It's the new Dickertian math.  This math allows you to buy almost anything with tax dollars, if you're part of the gang.  Watching this made me ill.

A complete failure to protect  the people of Racine and their money.  Just plain looting of the public's funds.

I hope I live to see a day when the Dickerts and whoever else is involved in the fraud get nailed in court.  We can only wait and hope.

The Root River!

Yesterday I decided to go and take a look at the Root River on 5Mile Rd. I know with all the rain we have been getting the river was high when I was going back and forth taking Drew to work. So I decided to take some pictures of how high the river has gotten so I could share them with everyone. I also had a Robin just sitting there posing for a picture.

"Michael Fasman's 12-year-old dog, Hudson, limps from pain caused by arthritis and an amputated toe, but Fasman doesn't want to give her painkillers because 'they just knock her out.'

"So the San Francisco resident has turned to an alternative medicine that many humans use to treat their own pain and illness: marijuana.

"On a recent morning, Fasman squeezed several drops of a cannabis extract onto a plate of yogurt, which the Portuguese water dog lapped up in seconds. It's become part of Hudson's daily routine.

"'We think it's really lifted her spirits and made her a happier dog,' Fasman said. 'It's not that she's changed. She's just back to her good old self.'

"As more states legalize marijuana for humans, more pet owners are giving their furry companions cannabis-based extracts, ointments and edibles marketed to treat everything from arthritis and anxiety to seizures and cancer.

"Most of these pet products, which aren't regulated, contain cannabidiol or CBD, a chemical compound found in cannabis that doesn't get pets or humans high. They contain little or no tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, the cannabis compound known for its psychoactive effects.

"But veterinarians say there isn't enough scientific data to show cannabis is safe and effective for treating animals. Although medical marijuana is legal in 28 states, it remains illegal under federal law, so there has been relatively little research into its potential medical benefits for humans or animals."
