A pair of hotel operators are planning to build a Staybridge Suites property in Mount Pleasant.
Cousins Jagdish and Mihir Patel are seeking village approval for the four-story, 88-room extended-stay hotel near Washington Ave. and Oakes Road.
The site is about five miles from the
manufacturing campus planned by Foxconn Technology Group, and Mihir
Patel said the plans for the Staybridge were spurred in part by the
prospect of the huge Foxconn project.
oxconn’s plans for a factory employing as many as 13,000 people have generated interest in the area among hotel developers, as well as other real estate investors.

Patel
said he expects to draw Foxconn-related business at the Staybridge. But
he indicated that the main reason for choosing the site was the lack of
similar hotel options in the Racine area.
“The market needs something extended stay with a kitchen and rooms,” Patel said.
Staybridge Suites says its rooms include fully equipped kitchens, as well as workspace and flexible storage areas.
Located
across Washington Ave. from J.I. Case High School, the Mount Pleasant
hotel would have an indoor pool, outdoor patio seating with grills and a
fireplace, and a multi-sport court.
If the project receives village approval, Patel said he expects to open before summer of 2019.
Patel said he, his cousin and their partners operate 12 other hotels, with the properties in the Green Bay area and in Indiana.

Planned and Expected....
Still WAITING.
23,000 jobs at $50K plus each. Scott Walker promises!
The Foxconn project is estimated to bring up to 13,000 jobs to the area along with roughly 10,000 temporary construction jobs. Those numbers have officials wondering where these people are going to live?
