A Milwaukee parking enforcement officer
was attacked and stabbed early Tuesday morning while writing a parking
ticket on the city's northwest side, Milwaukee police said.
The
officer was issuing a parking citation at about 2:30 am in the 5200
block of N. 67th Street when he was confronted by two people, police
said.
Police said the pair began punching and kicking the officer as the confrontation escalated, then stabbed him.
The
officer, a 60-year-old department veteran, was able to escape and drive
to a police station. He was taken to a hospital and is in stable
condition, police said.
