A Letter To The Editor: $59 Million KR Phase II Project
From Racine County Eye:
While many WI roads are crumbling around us, does it really make sense to spend $59 million dollars on a 2.8 mile stretch of CTR KR from H to just past Old Green Bay Road. This $59 million includes $40 million for two railroad overpasses.
But, that’s what WisDOT, and the Counties of Racine and Kenosha want to do —-All just to satisfy Foxconn, get commuters faster to the lake by several minutes, and to keep hurried commuters from possibly being inconvenienced by having to wait for a train.
Once again, homeowners in Mount Pleasant are being required to “take one for the Foxconn team” and give up land through eminent domain for projects associated with Foxconn. I would think by now, that potential homebuyers would know to steer clear of Mount Pleasant? You own your home here—-until they take it for one project or another, and then you don’t.
I am a Mount Pleasant resident along KR who stands to lose almost 100’ of her front yard through eminent domain for the 22’ median, two additional 12’ traffic lanes, an 8’ shoulder, a 10’ gap between the shoulder and the bike path, the 10’ bike path, and an additional 25’ of ROW. This huge “Super Highway” will be feet from my front door. I will never be able to sell my home in the future. Who would want it?
A SEWRPC (Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission) Study of KR was done several years ago. This Study revealed that the existing 2 lanes of KR have the capacity to handle 14,000 vehicles per day. At the time of the Study, there were 4500 to 8000 per day using KR. SEWRPC went on to say that this number was projected to increase by Year 2050 to 5000 to 9000 vehicles per day, still significantly under the maximum capacity.
What has changed? FOXCONN with its Gen 10 factory and 13,000 jobs. EXCEPT, that’s not the factory that is being built now. Instead, after all the millions of dollars being spent on infrastructure improvements, all we’re getting is a Gen 6 and 1500 jobs.
Homeowners along KR are obviously upset, and in some cases, angry. The Counties of Racine and Kenosha along with WisDOT want to INCREASE the speed limit to 50 mph in our residential neighborhood. Our children and grandchildren play in the yards that now will be so close to this road, and they wait for the school bus along it. Having a safe and prudent speed limit of 35 mph through our densely populated area would only increase the commute time by 1 minute 40 seconds, and makes sense.
Safety of residents should be of the utmost importance over commuter convenience.
Let’s rethink this project and expenditure. Perhaps, we could reduce the road footprint, eliminate the overpasses, and save some money that could be used for fixing some other roads that desperately need attention.
To move forward with this project in its current form without further study that encompasses the new direction of Foxconn is fiscally and morally irresponsible.

Police release body-cam video of Willie McCoy killing, showing him asleep in car
Vallejo police have released footage of the killing of Willie McCoy at a Taco Bell, showing six officers shooting the 20-year-old who was sleeping in his car.
The disturbing body-camera videos show the young rapper had moved his hand to scratch his shoulder before officers opened fire. The footage is consistent with key claims of McCoy’s family, who watched footage earlier this month and said the officers “executed” him while he was not alert or awake. The videos, released after significant pressure, show:
- The officers did not try to wake McCoy up or talk to him after they spotted a gun in his lap, and instead pointed their firearms at his head directly outside the car as he slept for several minutes.
- One officer said: “I’m going to pull him out and snatch his ass.”
- The officers then realized the firearm did not have a magazine in it, noting to each other that if it was loaded, it would have a single bullet in it: “He’s only got one shot if he shoots.”
- The officers then appeared to make a plan to fire at him, with one saying, “If he reaches for it, you know what to do.”
- McCoy eventually started to move, scratching his shoulder and not yet appearing alert or saying anything to officers, and several seconds later, all six officers fired at him.
Vallejo police officials slowed down the video in the final seconds
before the shootings, adding a caption that said “hand reaches to gun on
lap”. The videos of the 9 February incident, however, are blurry in
that moment and show McCoy’s body moving slightly, but do not capture
his hand moving to the firearm, which is not visible in the footage.
Marc McCoy, Willie’s older brother, told the Guardian on Friday that he was glad the public would finally see the video, but was not confident it would lead to justice.
“There’s a thousand videos on YouTube that show police misconduct, whether it’s beatings of citizens or killing them,” said Marc, 50. “It gets dismissed … The Vallejo police saw the video, and they don’t think there’s anything wrong with it or that the officers did anything criminal.”

Former Nevada politician alleges Joe Biden kissed the back of her head in 2014, made her feel 'uneasy, gross, and confused'
Washington (CNN)A
former Nevada state assemblywoman on Friday said former Vice President
Joe Biden made her feel "uneasy, gross, and confused" in 2014 at a
campaign event where she says he kissed her on the back of her head.
Lucy Flores wrote about her allegations in an essay for The Cut,
an arm of New York magazine, in which she said the encounter with Biden
occurred during a November 2014 campaign event when she was the
Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor of the state. The piece
includes a photo of Biden and Flores, along with actress Eva Longoria,
before the encounter Flores alleges took place.
"I
felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled
my hair. I was mortified," Flores wrote, adding that she wondered why
the then-vice president had come that close to her. "He proceeded to
plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn't process
what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused."
Flores continued: "I couldn't move, and I couldn't say anything. I wanted nothing more than to get Biden away from me."
This account comes as Biden is considering a bid for president in 2020.
In
a statement to CNN responding to Flores' allegation, Bill Russo, a
Biden spokesman, said, "Vice President Biden was pleased to support Lucy
Flores's candidacy for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada in 2014 and to
speak on her behalf at a well-attended public event. Neither then, nor
in the years since, did he or the staff with him at the time have an
inkling that Ms. Flores had been at any time uncomfortable, nor do they
recall what she describes.
"But
Vice President Biden believes that Ms. Flores has every right to share
her own recollection and reflections, and that it is a change for better
in our society that she has the opportunity to do so. He respects Ms.
Flores as a strong and independent voice in our politics and wishes her
only the best."

Jeremy Marquez, 24, of the 300 block of Wickham Boulevard, was charged Feb. 25 with felony counts of first-degree reckless homicide, possession of marijuana and bail jumping. Marquez was taken into custody after the death of his 3-month-old son due to severe head trauma. Sincerely, Tim & Cindy

NASA, European Space Agency (ESA), and German Aerospace Center (DLR) are requesting 24 volunteers to lie in bed for two months as part of a study into examining how the body changes in weightlessness. The three space agencies will compensate each volunteer $19,000. "We are looking for test persons who take part in a bed rest study from September to December 2019 in Cologne and spend 60 days lying down. Based on the study results, scientists are developing countermeasures that reduce the negative effects of weightlessness on astronauts," reads a translated DLR website for the project. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-29/hey-broke-millennials-nasa-will-give-you-19k-stay-bed-2-months
Great news for Team Foxconn
Dear Village Board, Great news for Team Foxconn, as soon there will be available an ABOUNDAZA supply of WI workers in search of a new job! From: https://madison.com/wsj/business/nearly-employees-in-wisconsin-to-lose-jobs-once-all-shopko/article_062782ce-75a4-501e-ae05-7c006f5ad528.html A total of almost 2,500 Wisconsin workers will have lost their jobs when the last Shopko closes for good, a state agency said Thursday. The Department of Workforce Development said Shopko, the bankrupt Wisconsin retailer, would lay off another 1,715 employees in the state from 39 stores as it winds down operations and goes out of business. Thursday’s announcement brings the total number of employees to lose a job as the company closes all of its stores to 2,496, according to the state. A transportation company, Spectrum Transportation Services LLC & Spectrum America Supply Chain Solutions Inc., whose only customer was Shopko has also closed, leaving 225 employees without a job, the DWD said. The DWD said Thursday that it would offer affected employees services such as workshops on resume writing and interviewing, job searching and budgeting. Laid-off Shopko employees could also use re-employment services for free through the state’s job centers. Training assistance is another option for those in a workforce development program". With Foxconn downgrading it's initial commitment to Wisconsin whereby it promised to build a 10 G LCD TV plant and employ 13,000 at $53,000 each (minimum), to a 6G LCD TV plant employing 1,000 (wages to be determined) - the soon to be available unemployed 2,500 former Shopko employees should be able to fill all available Foxconn jobs and those involved in the supply chain. *WIN* *WIN* It is like Mount Pleasant Residents have won the lottery - and I'm sure they can't wait until their property taxes drop to zero from the Foxconn Effect. Sincerely, Tim & Cindy

Old White Southern Good Ol- Boy and White Southern Male Overpaid and Overcompensated Dude City Admin.
Dear City of Ratcine Alderpersons, Old White Southern Good Ol- Boy and White Dude City Administrator Jeff Palenick is Off his rocker! The latest escapade: City of Ratcine Administrator Jeff Palenick is *BATSHIT KRAZY* From Harry – aka T-Rex: Mr. Palenick, First let me express my appreciation for you providing such great political fodder. I read with interest your letters concerning citizens addressing the Common Council on March 5th. Most citizens would think that the city administrator has more important tasks to accomplish than walking the corridors of city hall to gather signatures. On March 5th, my words to the common council were carefully chosen. Yours words were not. Holding government officials accountable is a basic tenet within our democracy. When dealing with government, accountability does comes before civility. When there is no accountability, then the lessons of Gene Sharp come into play. https://www.aeinstein.org/nonviolentaction/198-methods-of-nonviolent-action/ Here is something else you know nothing of ………… HOTGOVERNMENT https://www.hotgovernment.com/ When government officials are confronted with accountability, they often claim they are being personally attacked. Get over it Mr. Palenick, if you are that thin skinned, get out of government and go back to Mommy. Perhaps if you really listened to what the public said at the common council meetings you would learn of the plights of the citizens you so brazenly ignore. You treat public comments as an inconvenience you must tolerate. You stare mindlessly into your computer screen or shuffle papers around as the public airs their concerns. So typical of disenfranchised bureaucrats. Silencing critics is all part of Cory Mason’s secret government. I quote part of your letter for reference” “proceeded to publicly and personally attack City Attorney Scott Letteney, as well as Mayor Cory Mason, and, by position reference Human Resources director Tim Thompkins, with unfounded claims and outrights lies in a manner and using terms explicitly designed to personally disparage and impugn the character and integrity of said employees and officials.” Tim Thompkins ? Really? Personally attack ? Really? Why are you trying to interject Mr. Thompkins into the fray? No inference or mention of him at all during the open public comments on March 5th. Personally attacked Scott Letteney ? Really ? Didn’t even mention his name, but there is foundation for the criticism, Mayor – Coryuption ? Yes, I did say mayor and coryuption, again, there is foundation for the criticism. You seem to have a problem with criticism, so this response should really give you something to whine about. There are medications for people that are delusional or hear voices, perhaps this is the wake up call you need to deal with your issues . Your response is laughable at best and pathetic being a more appropriate term As a government employee, you should be aware that criticism comes with the turf. Please reference your childish tirade to the common council and provide specific examples where I lied, stretched the truth or provided misinformation. I am a detail type of individual and I can back my smack, so I am very interested in listening how you will back your frivolous statements and claims. It appears you have taken some bad advice and miscues from the master scofflaw Scott Letteney. Perhaps Scotty helped you write the letters? I will gladly provide you a forum on Racinecountycorruption.blogsot.com for you to make your case or I will return to the same venue where you can present your case in front of the common council. . It is disappointing to see that the city of Racine administrator is blinded by the darkness of unaccountably, ineptness and fraud. It appears your time spent working with Mason and Letteney to undermine and subvert the authority of the common council has apparently taken a detrimental toll upon your reasoning and understanding of the checks and balances within government. So tell me Mr. Palenick, acting as the city administrator and a trusted member of the mayor’s inner circle, how did keeping the police survey a secret serve the interest of the community? Was Mason embarrassed by the report? Or perhaps disappointed? According to the Racine Journal Times, Mayor Mason now claims the study will cost approximately $150,000 dollars for the 24 page report, up from the previous announced $118,000. https://journaltimes.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/update-racine-police-cultural-climate-study-released/article_37dcdbb5-b4c8-52d9-bbd3-62193d20aa60.html#tracking-source=home-top-story-1 The report cost $6,000 dollars a page??!!! Does spending that amount of money sound reasonable to you ? Do you believe the money was wisely spent ? In my opinion, another example of Mayor Mason going head hunting, finding nothing while squandering tax dollars in his personal quest to exert his personal control over the city of Racine Police Department. Did you even realize that Mayor Mason undermined and subverted common council authority when he commissioned the secret police study “by the hour”? I think not. If your pouty letters are any indication as to how you task your job as city administrator, then I understand why the city continues to decline under the “professional management team employed by the City of Racine”. The darkness of Coryuption is a plague within city government: Secret surveys, secret meetings, secret government, secret courts, squandering of public funds, lack of accountability, government bloat, doubling park fees…… all documented. The winds of change are in the air and the rats are scurrying for cover. End the plague. REJECT CORYUPTION Let the sunshine of honest, open and transparent – HOT government into the city of Racine Support Sandy Weidner for Mayor. One more item Mr. Palenick, Let’s play where is Waldo Tim Thompkins in the below common council address, shall we? dudo dudo dudo See: https://arrestrecordsofracinewipublicofficials.wordpress.com/2019/03/29/city-of-racine-city-administrator-nick-palenick-is-nuts-or-worse/ Sincerely, Tim & Cindy
Teen suffering from seizures dies after doctors discover parasitic tapeworm eggs in his brain
An 18-year-old India man, who was not identified, complained of having
pain in his groin and swelling in his eye, was found to have parasites
in his brain. (The New England Journal of Medicine ©2019) |
A teenager from India transported to an emergency room after suffering from seizures was found to have parasitic cysts in his brain.
The 18-year-old man’s parents said he had pain in his right groin, according to a case study published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The man had suffered from tonic-clonic seizures, formerly known as
grand mal seizures. After a physical examination, doctors noticed he the
man had swelling over his eye and appeared to be confused, a report
from Dr. Nishanth Dev and S. Zafar Abbas of the ESIC Medical College and
Hospital stated.
The man underwent an ultrasound and MRI, which revealed he had cysts in
his cerebral cortex, brain stem, right eye and testes. The doctors
diagnosed him with neurocysticercosis, which is defined as a “parasitic
infection of the central nervous system and is caused by the pork
tapeworm Taenia solium,” according to the World Health Organization [WHO].
People can get neurocysticercosis “by swallowing microscopic eggs passed in the feces of a person who has an intestinal pork tapeworm,” according to the Centers for Disease Control.
This man, who was not identified, had a severe case and died two weeks later, the report stated. The man could not be treated with antiparasitic medications because it could have worsened the swelling in his brain. He was treated with antiepileptic medications and dexamethasone.
WHO said neurocysticercosis is “prevalent mainly in developing countries” and found in Southeast Asia, parts of Africa and Latin America.

Action demanded after 1,100 dead dolphins wash up in France
(Cecile Dars, Observatoire Pelagis/CNRS/Universite de la Rochelle via AP) |
But what shocked French marine researchers wasn’t just the brutality of the deaths of these highly intelligent mammals, but the numbers involved — a record 1,100 have landed on France’s Atlantic coast beaches since January.
The mass deaths, widely blamed on industrial fishing, have alarmed animal welfare groups and prompted France’s ecology minister to launch a national plan to protect them.
“There’s never been a number this high,” said Willy Daubin, a member of La Rochelle University’s National Center for Scientific Research. “Already in three months, we have beaten last year’s record, which was up from 2017 and even that was the highest in 40 years.”
Though Daubin said 90 percent of the fatalities resulted from the dolphins being accidentally captured in industrial fishing nets, the reason behind the spike this year is a mystery.
“What fishing machinery or equipment is behind all these deaths?” he asked.
Autopsies carried out on the dolphins this year by La Rochelle University’s National Center for Scientific Research show extreme levels of mutilation.
Activists say it’s common for fishermen to cut body parts off the suffocated dolphins after they are pulled up on the nets, to save the nets.

MADISON - One of the 82 appointees who
lost their positions last week amid a ferocious court battle between
Democratic Gov. Tony Evers and Republican lawmakers tried to return to
work Thursday morning and was blocked at the elevators.
Ellen
Nowak, the Public Service Commission chairwoman appointed by former
Gov. Scott Walker, was stopped by a building security guard and
prevented from going to the commission's office in a state building in
Madison.
Nowak and her adviser, Bob Seitz, told
the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel they believed they could return to their
jobs after a Wednesday Appeals Court ruling reinstated some of the laws
previously blocked by a lower court ruling that declared unlawful
a December legislative session during which Nowak was appointed to the
commission.
But a commission employee told them Gov. Tony Evers' attorneys' interpretation of that ruling says otherwise.
Later Thursday, Evers reappointed most of the people who had been
confirmed in December and lost their appointments on Friday. Nowak was
among the 15 Walker appointees who were not nominated by Evers

Mony Mony: Unraveling the mystery of the song’s infamous, crowd-sung lyric
Recently Nissan launched an ad promoting the sale of their Sentra model which featured the longtime party anthem “Mony Mony,” as its centerpiece. The
ad is upbeat and catchy, which does a terrible disservice to those of
us that will be paying for a wedding in the next decade or two. If in
fact the song finds new life and DJ’s feel compelled to play the song
(and its accompanying mystery, crowd-sung lyric) at gatherings
nationwide, we as the parents paying for the celebration are doomed to
an awkward few moments as grandma hears things she shouldn’t.

Jewish humor isn't
Owen Benjamin is absolutely right.
What passes for Jewish so-called humor isn't funny at all. I've never
found Mel Brooks, Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Sarah Silverman, Adam
Sandler, Gene Wilder, or Lenny Bruce to be even modestly amusing. Jewish
"humor" is nothing more than a degenerate combination of whining, moral
and cultural transgressivism, narcissistic posturing, and sexual
obsession. It's so relentlessly stupid that it is borderline retarded.
. . .
. . .
The reason that comedy is dying is because it was taken over by subversives, and subversives are intrinsically parasitical in nature. They can't build, create, or even sustain anything on their own. It's like trying to maintain the financial sector on the basis of nothing except finance. http://voxday.blogspot.com/2019/03/jewish-humor-isnt.html
Jeff Coe and the Civic Centre
Dear City of Racine Alderpersons, In addition to more embezzlers being discovered in Racine - now we have questionably questionable accounts, courtesy Alderperson Jeff Coe: From Sin City: Is Alderman Jeff Coe Misinformed or Malfeasant Concerning Civic Centre Revenues? Does Alderman Jeff Coe know what he is talking about – in regards to Civic Centre taxpayer funded subsidizes? The 2017 Audited Financial Report indicates that he is either misinformed or malfeasant when he wrongly asserts, in a Journal Times article, “First District Alderman Jeff Coe is concerned about the city spending much more on its annual Civic Centre subsidy — set at $323,000 in 2016. Coe said he doesn’t want to go back to the situation in 2005 when Racine was spending upwards of $800,000 on the Civic Centre”. From JT: At city’s lakefront venues: In effort to draw festivals Downtown, city leaders plan to retool Festival Hall contract https://journaltimes.com/news/local/in-effort-to-draw-festivals-downtown-city-leaders-plan-to/article_6ba58b8a-bc86-5061-8dbd-2f44a1798966.html#tracking-source=home-trending RACINE — In an effort to bring more people, business and festivals Downtown, the city is planning to retool its contract with the business that runs Festival Hall, Paul P. Harris Rotary Park and Memorial Hall. Currently, the three city-owned locations — collectively known as the Civic Centre — are run by VenuWorks, a venue management company based in Ames, Iowa, that runs more than 30 arenas, theaters and convention centers nationwide. The current contract with VenuWorks was most recently approved in fall 2017, when doomed discussions to build a hotel and arena Downtown were still ongoing. Affecting Racine’s taxpayers First District Alderman Jeff Coe is concerned about the city spending much more on its annual Civic Centre subsidy — set at $323,000 in 2016. Coe said he doesn’t want to go back to the situation in 2005 when Racine was spending upwards of $800,000 on the Civic Centre. The facts, revealed in the City of Racine 2017 Audited Financial Report evidence that Alderman Jeff Coe, at best, doesn’t know what he is talking about. The Audited Financial Report reveals that the Civic Centre was taxpayer subsidized to the tune of $807,061, with an operating loss of of $675,357! As documented at: https://arrestrecordsofracinewipublicofficials.wordpress.com/2019/03/28/is-alderman-jeff-coe-misinformed-or-malfeasant-concerning-civic-centre-revenues/ Where did Alderman Jeff Coe get his misinformation from? Since he posted a bald-faced lie as reported by JT: First District Alderman Jeff Coe is concerned about the city spending much more on its annual Civic Centre subsidy — set at $323,000 in 2016. Coe said he doesn’t want to go back to the situation in 2005 when Racine was spending upwards of $800,000 on the Civic Centre. And yet - Alderman Jeff Coe assisted Mayor Cory Mason in increasing the staffing ion the Mayors office from 3 to 5 and incurring a cost of $750,000 plus to fund it! *WOW* When does the looting of a City of Ill Repute end? Sincerely, Tim & Cindy

Key Congressional Committee To Vote On Marijuana Banking Bill
Published 2 days ago on
By Kyle Jaeger
A major congressional financial committee is scheduled to vote on a series of bills this week, and that includes bipartisan legislation that would protect banks from being penalized by federal regulators for working with marijuana businesses.
The bill, introduced by Reps. Ed Perlmutter (D-CO) and Denny Heck (D-WA), and cosponsored by more than a third of the entire House, is seen by legalization advocates as the first of several pieces of cannabis legislation that the Democratic-controlled House will take up as the debate over broader marijuana reform continues on Capitol Hill.
The Secure And Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act is meant to give banks reassurance that servicing cannabis businesses will not result in federal prosecution under existing money laundering or drug laws. While more financial institutions are accepting marijuana business accounts, others refuse to out of concern about the prospect of being punished, which leaves some businesses to operate on a cash-only basis that can make them targets of crime.
On Wednesday, the panel processed a number of amendments to the legislation via voice votes, with roll call votes and action on final passage expected Thursday morning.
Amendments adopted by the committee included one extending protections to “de novo” banking institutions seeking charters or master accounts from a Federal Reserve bank. Another successful measure expands the provisions to cover insurance companies. A third requires the Government Accountability Office to study previous reports that banks are required to file on their marijuana business customers to understand how effective they are in identifying bad actors.
Among amendments defeated by voice votes are ones that would limit the bill to cover only hemp businesses and revoke protections from banks that serve marijuana operations located close to schools. Others sought to delay enactment of the bill until cannabis is federally descheduled, until federal financial regulators are able to issue new guidance to banks or until the Treasury secretary certifies the legislation wouldn’t leave any financial institution more susceptible to illicit financial activity and money laundering.
The banking bill “addresses an urgent public safety concern for legitimate businesses that currently have no recourse but to operate with just cash,” Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) said at the start of the committee meeting on Tuesday. “However, I also consider this bill as part of a holistic approach toward providing criminal justice reform to those who have been harmed by criminalization of marijuana and should not by any means be the only bill the House takes up on the important issue of cannabis reform.”

Trump calls on FBI, DOJ to review Jussie Smollett case
CHICAGO (AP) — President Donald Trump is calling on the FBI and Department of Justice to review how Chicago prosecutors handled the case against "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett.
Prosecutors offered little explanation and infuriated Chicago's police chief and mayor this week when they dropped charges against Smollett related to making a false police report. Yet prosecutors still insist the actor faked a racist, anti-gay attack on himself in January.
Trump tweeted early Thursday that prosecutors' handling of the case was "an embarrassment" to the country, and called on the federal agencies to review what he called an "outrageous" case.
Smollett's attorney says two brothers who claim they worked with the actor to stage the attack are lying. Investigators alleged Smollett staged the attack with the hopes of gaining attention and advancing his career.

Slaasted: Election could change status quo
Citizens of Racine, we have an
election scheduled within a few weeks. This election is very important
for the future of our city. If you are satisfied with the status quo,
then vote for the incumbent. If not, we have the opportunity to replace
them. There are contested races for members of the Common Council some
with declared candidates, others, such in the 7th District, a write-in
candidate.
Also, we have the opportunity to write in Sandy Weidner for mayor. Sandy is the Alderwomen of the 6th District. When one watches the City Council proceedings on channel 25, one notices how she is always prepared to ask the probing questions, sometimes when those questions would rather not be asked.
Think HOT. H — Honest, O — Open, T — Transparent government. If that is what you want, vote change.
Dale Slaasted, Racine

Fake Crime - No Time!
t is true - whether the irresponsible Parents of color fail to acknowledge the disruptive and criminal actions of their prodigy at RUSD, or People of Color collude in the Illinois Judiciary to dismiss the crimes of Jussie Smollett. https://journaltimes.com/news/local/district-parents-clash-over-fight-at-mitchell-caught-on-video/article_47fce72a-fe22-5a8a-a377-27cc41d87f19.html#tncms-source=infinity-scroll-summary-siderail-latest When will People of Color act responsibly? I don't know why anyone is leaping to the conclusion that the Chicago justice system is corrupt. Surely the decision not to charge Jussie Smollett for committing a hoax crime was nothing but the result of a thorough police investigation leading the state prosecutor to conclude he was innocent of the charges! Jussie Smollett will not be prosecuted for allegedly faking a racial attack, because all charges have been dropped!!! Jussie and his lawyers ran to court Tuesday morning in Chicago, where he was facing 16 felony counts of lying to police in the alleged racial and homophobic attack. Jussie will surrender his $10,000 bond. But, that's it. The case is over. We're told the State's Attorney, Kim Foxx, told Chicago police she was dropping the case because Jussie would have only gotten community service if convicted and she said he has already performed community service so there is no point in prosecuting him. We could not find any record of Smollett doing community service. We're told Chicago police are "furious" and feel something untoward is going on with Kim Foxx. Jussie's lawyers say, "Today, all criminal charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped and his record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him. Jussie was attacked by two people he was unable to identify on January 29th. He was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public, causing an inappropriate rush to judgment." Doesn't everyone know that it's racist to hold not-white people accountable to white people standards? I'm only surprised that the police who arrested Smollett aren't being charged with racism in the first degree. http://voxday.blogspot.com/2019/03/fake-crime-no-time.html
Dear Madame Zoltar
Hello, my dears! How are you? Are you ready for temperatures in the 50's? That's what we're supposed to have today and tomorrow. I love it. I'm fed up with winter and the s-word. Spring has sprung, so let's keep the temps out of the 30's please. Of course, in the middle of August, I'll be complaining about the heat. But that's then and this is now. Warm it up. We deserve it.
I want to express my condolences to Tender Heart Bear, who lost her mother the other night. Be strong, my dear, and take solace in the rest of your family. I'm sure that Mr. Drew is being helpful.
Next week is the election. Please remember to write-in Sandy Weidner for mayor and vote for Ricky Jarstad in the 3rd District. We must elect people who reflect our values and are not tainted by temptations to rip us off. With the moral decline of society, it's getting harder and harder to find the honest type willing to serve. So we should support the few that we have. Kill 'em, Sandy and Ricky.
Note: the bearded lady has suddenly been keeping a low profile. What's up, Attorney Letteny? Still trying to pull your foot out of your mouth? You should be prosecuted for the crimes you've committed while in office. You're as dirty as any criminal out there.
Did Mayor Butterball announce an expansion of his staff? Why not? Living high on the taxpayers' dime are we? It's good to be "king," isn't it? Just keep scamming the taxpayers. You'll get yours.
Junior is still license-less and he's beginning to get underfoot. I worried about him driving, but I must admit I enjoyed the solitude at home. I just wish it didn't come at such a price. Car crashes are expensive. And the insurance goes up and up.
I wish the grass would hurry up and turn green. I can't wait for the budding of trees and shrubs. And the songs of birds - I absolutely love them. They're the harbingers of spring. Sing on, my little buddies.
Here's a little spring music from Vivaldi:
My, that sounds so formal. I'm bringing culture to the JTI. Too bad I have so little of my own.
That's it, friends. I'm ending this so I can enjoy some of the weather.
madamezoltar@jtirregulars.com
Have fun. Spring is just beginning and there's so much more that will happen in the landscape and with the weather. And, or course, we might still see some s-word, but it will melt quickly. Enjoy.

Harry? Is that You?
A fossil site in Canada has yielded the heaviest Tyrannosaurus rex specimen ever found—an animal that weighed an estimated 19,500 pounds in life, far heftier than most elephants alive today. The dinosaur, unveiled last week in The Anatomical Record, consists of a skeleton that's about 65 percent complete, including the skull and hips along with some of its ribs, leg bones, and tail bones. Nicknamed “Harry,” the tyrannosaur was a senior by this species' standards, making it to at least the age of 28.

Is Weed 'Harmless'? Legalized Cannabis Linked To More ER Visits In Colorado.
While cannabis enthusiasts assert that weed is harmless, according to a new study, the legalization of marijuana in Colorado has led to an increase in emergency room visits.
"Recreational cannabis went on sale in 2014 and it has led to an increase in emergency department visits, according to a new study," reports CNN. "Although inhaled cannabis leads to more visits overall, new research says, edibles — foods containing cannabis extract — account for more visits for psychiatric and cardiovascular symptoms."
Colorado legalized cannabis for recreational use in 2014 after allowing it for medicinal purposes in 2009. Between 2012 and 2016, UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital saw a "threefold increase" in ER visits related to cannabis use — 9,973 cases. Dr. Andrew A. Monte, an emergency medicine physician at the hospital, said the research stemmed from his colleagues witnessing a high number of cannabis-related visits without any data to back up the spotted pattern.
Published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, the study showed that edible cannabis accounted for 10.7% of emergency room visits despite those being just 0.32% of cannabis sales in the state. In 2015, for instance, one man committed suicide after consuming such a product.

More of the Cory Mason Coryuption
Dear City of Racine Alderpersons, Isn't sexual conduct between minors prohibited by law? YES - or NO! Then why should minors be openly encouraged to engage in a Prom which is to be regulated by specific (perverted) gender sexual behavior be held to no account? https://journaltimes.com/news/local/lgbt-center-wants-to-get-the-word-out-about-equality/article_0f220ac5-9843-59f4-ac13-0718f09a698c.html#tncms-source=block-contextual-fallback It would seem - to inquiring minds - that Mayor Cory Mason, City Attorney Scott Letteney, and the entire Common Council are acting contrary to the rule of law, decency, moral turpitude, and not only authorizing illegal sexual behavior between minors, but encouraging it. And that JT, by publishing the event, is a party to the crime. Inquiring minds want answers. Sincerely, Tim & Cindy
On Saturday, I cleaned the bike with the power washer - top down.
Today - Monday, I turned it upside down to remove the wheels and begin cleaning them - and the first step is using isopropryl alcohol to get rid of the grunge - as they were really nasty. Then I got to looking at the underside of the Bike - *WHOA* it was bad. You would never guess that I had power washed it.... and all the fine particles.... causing wear and scratches - well, they came from the bike trail. The South side bike trails have all been black-topped, while the North side are shill powdered chips. I remember, after it was done - seeing so many fine white chips/powder affixed to my bike. Those fine white limestone chips are just an abrasive! So I threw the bike in the bathtub - made up some car soap - and cleaned the underside! I don't have pictures of it when dirty - but it was nasty and severe.....
From 'nappuccinos' to more weekend z's: strategies to catch up on lost sleep
Research published recently in the journal Sleep finds that up to six years after the birth of a child, many mothers and fathers still don't sleep as much as they did before their child was born. For parents, there's just less time in the day to devote to yourself.
So, can you catch up on sleep? That partly depends on how much sleep you've missed.
A study in the current issue of Current Biology points to just how quickly the adverse effects of sleep deprivation can kick in. Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder recruited a bunch of young, healthy adults who agreed to a stay in a sleep lab. Some were allowed to sleep no more than five hours per night for five consecutive days.
"After five days, people [gained] as much as 5 pounds," says study author Christopher Depner, who studies the links between sleep loss and metabolic diseases. Lack of sleep can throw off the hormones that regulate appetite, he explains, so people tend to eat more.
Depner and his colleagues also documented a decrease in insulin sensitivity among the sleep-deprived participants. "In some people, it decreased to a level where they'd be considered pre-diabetic," he says. Presumably, that rise in blood sugar would be only temporary in these young, healthy people. But it's a striking indicator of how much a lack of sleep can influence metabolism.
And, even after a weekend of catch-up sleep, the participants still gained as much weight as those in the study who had not been allowed to get the extra weekend sleep.
So, bottom line: It can be hard for our metabolism to recover from a week of sleep deprivation, and — over time — chronic sleep loss can increase the risk of Type 2 diabetes.

Bingo and bongs: More seniors turn to pot for age-related aches
A group of retired seniors from Laguna Woods Village form a line outside Bud and Bloom cannabis dispensary. |
There they board a bus for a quick trip to a building that, save for the green Red Cross-style sign in the window, resembles a trendy coffee bar. The people, mostly in their 70s and 80s, pass the next several hours enjoying a light lunch, playing a few games of bingo and selecting their next month’s supply of cannabis-infused products.
“It’s like the ultimate senior experience,” laughs 76-year-old retired beauty products distributor Ron Atkin as he sits down to watch the bingo at the back of the Bud and Bloom marijuana dispensary in Santa Ana.
Most states now have legal medical marijuana, and 10 of them, including California, allow anyone 21 or older to use pot recreationally. The federal government still outlaws the drug even as acceptance increases. The 2018 General Social Survey, an annual sampling of Americans’ views, found a record 61 percent back legalization, and those 65 and older are increasingly supportive.
Indeed, many industry officials say the fastest-growing segment of their customer base is people like Atkin — aging baby boomers or even those a little older who are seeking to treat the aches and sleeplessness and other maladies of old age with the same herb that many of them once passed around at parties.
“I would say the average age of our customers is around 60, maybe even a little older,” said Kelty Richardson, a registered nurse with the Halos Health clinic in Boulder, Colorado, which provides medical examinations and sells physician-recommended cannabis through its online store.

Stormy Daniels' ex-lawyer Michael Avenatti arrested for alleged $20 million extortion scheme against Nike, embezzling client's money, defrauding bank
Celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti was arrested Monday on charges he attempted to extort Nike out of up to $25 million by threatening to drive the athletic apparel giant's market capitalization down by $10 billion by announcing claims of misconduct by company employees.
Avenatti also is charged in a separate federal case out of Los Angeles, where he is accused of embezzling a client's money "in order to pay his own expenses and debts" of himself, his law firm and coffee company, and of "defrauding a bank in Mississippi," prosecutors said.
The famously aggressive litigator had represented porn star Stormy Daniels in lawsuits against President Donald Trump and his former lawyer Michael Cohen related to a non-disclosure agreement she signed on the eve of the 2016 presidential election to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump in exchange for a $130,000 payment.

Lithuanian Who Scammed Google, Facebook For $120 Million Pleads Guilty
A Lithuanian man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and three counts of money laundering after scamming Google and Facebook out of more than $120 million.
Between 2013 and 2015, Evaldas Rimasauskas tricked Google and Facebook employees into wiring the funds into a Latvian company he created with an identical name to Asian hardware vendor Quanta Computer Inc. - claiming that the Silicon Valley companies owed the vendor money.
Using spoofed emails, Rimasauskas was able to trick the Google and Facebook employees along with the banks they worked with to make and approve payments to bank accounts owned by his Latvian company.
He was arrested in March, 2017 and extradited to the Southern District of New York in August 2017.
The scheme is known as a "business email compromise," in which fraudsters demand money after identifying individuals in key positions who work with foreign suppliers.
"As Evaldas Rimasauskas admitted today, he devised a blatant scheme to fleece U.S. companies out of over $100 million, and then siphoned those funds to bank accounts around the globe," said Manhattan US Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman.
According to a Justice Department press release, Rimasauskas "caused forged invoices, contracts, and letters that falsely appeared to have been executed and signed by executives and agents of the Victim Companies, and which bore false corporate stamps embossed with the Victim Companies’ names, to be submitted to banks in support of the large volume of funds that were fraudulently transmitted via wire transfer."
Rimasauskas agreed to forfeit $49,738,559.41 to the United States as part of his plea agreement "representing the amount of proceeds traceable to the offense in Count One of the Indictment that the defendant personally obtained," via wire fraud.
He could receive a maximum of 30 years in prison if found guilty on all counts. He is scheduled to appear for sentencing on July 24 at 10:00 a.m. before Judge George B. Daniels in the Southern District of New York.

'Meals under wheels': More states make it legal to eat roadkill
Critics warn about the risks of diseased meat and worry that over-eager drivers may intentionally strike down animals.
By Adam Edelman
By Adam Edelman
You found it on the side of the road and now, in more than two dozen states, you can eat it with a side of potatoes.
At
least 27 states have passed legislation allowing drivers to turn their
roadkill into their dinner, and lawmakers in many others, including
California, are poised to do the same.
"At
the end of the day, it just makes sense to put to positive use the
animals that were just going to end up decaying and creating problems
alongside the road," Oregon state Sen. Bill Hansell, whose bill
legalizing the eating of roadkill went into effect earlier this year,
told NBC News.
Does this include Politicians?
