A man was shot and killed in the 900 block of East Wright Street, near N. Bremen Street, on Thursday afternoon, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office said.
Milwaukee police said the shooting in the city's Riverwest neighborhood is under investigation, but provided no additional information.
Citing interviews with witnesses, Fox6 reported Thursday night that the victim was Bernell Trammell, 60, a fixture in the neighborhood, often seen on street corners with hand-painted signs about religion and politics.
Trammell was connected with Expressions Journal, which is listed as having an office at 915 E. Wright Street — on the block where the shooting occurred early Thursday afternoon.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.

My ex-wife and I once lived in the 1000 block of E. Wright St. in Milwaukee.
