House Passes Marijuana Research Bill After Approving Federal Decriminalization

In the last days of its existence, the House of the 116th Congress passed a second marijuana reform bill in quick succession after approving the MORE Act that plans to decriminalize marijuana federally. The Medical Marijuana Research Act, which passed the House and is awaiting action in the Senate, would promote research and allow scientists to study state-legal marijuana.

The bill was approved by a voice vote under a suspension of the rules, with approval from more than two-thirds of the chamber. The effort was bipartisan and led by the unlikely duo of Democratic cannabis champion Rep. Earl Blumenauer and Republican prohibitionist Rep. Andy Harris. Unexpectedly, the bill had more Republican than Democratic co-sponsors. Although the Republican Party has been consistently opposing any and all marijuana reform, which makes it seem likely that the Medical Marijuana Research Act will not even be put up to a vote in Sen. Mitch McConnell’s Republican-controlled Senate, the bipartisan nature of the project can be a reason to hope.

In its original form, the bill merely expanded the number of federally approved suppliers of marijuana for research purposes, but it was amended to allow researchers to study state-legal marijuana to better understand the products available to customers in dispensaries across the country. It was that newer version that passed with a large majority through the House, finally providing an answer to a problem pointed out by the Shepherd Express and numerous experts for the past few decades.

27 Years Ago, The Packers Said Goodbye to Milwaukee

There was just under two minutes left in the game, when the Milwaukee County Stadium public address announcer finally acknowledged what everyone in the building already knew. “The Packers extend a sincere thanks to our Milwaukee fans for their loyalty and support over the last 62 years.”

The crowd of more than 54,000 booed. It was 27 years ago and the Packers had been playing home games in Milwaukee longer than all but five of the NFL’s franchises existed at the time. But it would be all over in a few minutes. An occasion marked without pomp or ceremony, without a roster of Packers legends taking to the County Stadium grass one last time or a series of pregame speeches. The halftime show that afternoon, which could have paid tribute to the 125 games the Packers had played there since 1953, instead featured a team of trained dogs catching Frisbees.

And the Packers were losing to the Atlanta Falcons, 17-14. The Falcons who had nothing left to play for in Week 16, already eliminated from the playoffs; the Falcons who possessed one of the worst defenses in the league; the Falcons who had lost Jeff George, their starting QB, to an injury early in the game. The Packers controlled their own destiny, with a pair of wins in the last two games clinching them a winning record, a playoff spot, and perhaps even a division title. But after jumping out in front early, the Packers lost their all-world receiver Sterling Sharpe to a neck injury. Sharpe laid motionless on the turf for several moments before leaving and, although he would play the next week, he’d miss the postseason and be forced to retire in the offseason. They held the lead going into the half, but the mood was decidedly subdued.

The Packers looked tired in the second half, only managing a missed field goal on offense and doing little to stop backup QB Bobby Herbert’s march downfield to give the Falcons the lead. As they took over with just one timeout remaining and less than two minutes to jump-start their suddenly moribund offense, the Packers finally offered their tip-of-the-cap to the Milwaukee faithful. It’s no wonder their response was less than gracious.

Covid-19 vaccine rollout hits a major snag

The wealthy scramble for COVID-19 vaccines: ‘If I donate $25,000 ... would that help me?’

They’re offering tens of thousands of dollars in cash, making their personal assistants pester doctors every day, and asking whether a five-figure donation to a hospital would help them jump the line.

The COVID-19 vaccine is here — and so are the wealthy people who want it first.

“We get hundreds of calls every single day,” said Dr. Ehsan Ali, who runs Beverly Hills Concierge Doctor. His clients, who include Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber, pay between $2,000 and $10,000 a year for personalized care. “This is the first time where I have not been able to get something for my patients.”

With the first doses in short supply, California has laid out a strict order of vaccinations based on need and risk: Healthcare workers and nursing home residents, then essential workers and those with chronic health conditions, then, finally, everyone else.

Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson blocks proposal to provide $1,200 coronavirus relief checks

From JSOnline:
Mary SpicuzzaAlison Dirr
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson on Friday blocked an attempt to pass a second round of stimulus checks, arguing that COVID-19 relief efforts need to be more focused and raising concerns about the country's debt.

Johnson, R-Wis., objected to a proposal from U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican, who pushed for a bill that would provide $1,200 for individuals who make up to $75,000, $2,400 for couples and $500 for children.

Hawley tried to get consent for the plan, which would require the support of every senator, noting that his bill matched language in the CARES Act approved by Congress in spring.

Congressional leaders and the White House have been negotiating a broader, wide-ranging COVID relief plan. The push by Hawley was to act more quickly on the $1,200 checks.

Foxconn willing to agree to fewer tax credits 'in exchange for flexibility'; new agreement 'within reach

From JSOnline:

Ricardo Torres
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Foxconn Technology Group is willing to accept a reduction in state tax credits “in exchange for a flexible business environment in Wisconsin,” the company has told state officials.

The change in position was mentioned in letters between the company and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. obtained Friday by the Journal Sentinel.

The state agency this fall determined Foxconn was not eligible for tax credits in 2020 for hiring and investments made in 2019. Since its inception in 2017, the Foxconn project has shrunk in size and scope, which WEDC views as a major change to the contract that covers the tax credits. The state says Foxconn is not in compliance, a decision Foxconn has challenged.

Under the initial contract negotiated between the state and Foxconn, the company would be eligible for up to $2.85 billion in state money.

In a Nov. 23 letter from Foxconn attorney Robert Berry to Jennifer Campbell, chief legal officer for WEDC, the company outlines its disagreement with the department's decision to not grant tax credits for work done in 2019. The company also expresses a willingness to negotiate.

The letter states that WEDC and Foxconn “had a mutual understanding that the overarching goal of (Foxconn’s) investment was to implement a transformational and sustainable high-tech manufacturing and technology ecosystem in Wisconsin that brings long-term investment and jobs.”

Judge gives Alfonso Morales his job back as chief, reverses Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission

From JSOnline:
Alison DirrAshley Luthern
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

A judge has given Alfonso Morales, Milwaukee's ousted police chief, his job back — one day after the board that demoted him selected a new acting chief.

In a ruling Friday, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Christopher Foley reversed the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission's August decision to demote Morales.

Morales subsequently retired, sued and requested a judicial review of the decision.

What will happen next remains uncertain.

The ruling comes as the commission continues to search for a permanent police chief after deadlocking on two external candidates.

Foley only reversed the decision and did not give further instructions — something he said he could not do because of the commission's own failures.

"I acknowledge that from the City’s perspective there is great benefit in remand with directions," he wrote. "Remand continues the status quo as of the conclusion of the Commission hearing with Mr. Morales demoted to captain and appealing that demotion. It avoids the potential, noted in media accounts, of 'two chiefs.'

The Serbian Connection

Submitted by Jimmygreen:

When Sidney Powell spoke to conservative radio host Howie Carr on Nov. 20, she included Serbia among four countries she accused of interfering with the Nov. 3 Presidential election.

Four days earlier, a former member of Serbia's parliament published stunning evidence to support Powell's assertion.

Srjdan Nogo not only showed how Serbia manipulated vote totals. He exposed the connections between the highest officials in the Serbian government, Serbian leaders in technology and telecommunications, George Soros, former Vice President Joe Biden, the CIA and other government agencies in the United States.

Among the figures Nogo mentions in his articles for the website Srbin Info is retired Gen. David Petraeus, who commanded American troops in Afghanistan, then served as President Barack Obama's CIA director for 15 months before John Brennan replaced him in 2012.

In a separate tweet Nov. 29, Nogo confirmed that the United States military seized CIA computer servers in Frankfurt, Germany.

Jan. 17th, 2021: The LARGEST Armed Protest Ever To Take Place On American Soil Is Scheduled

The single largest protest advocating for the rights and freedoms of all people in the United States will be taking place. In every capitol in every US state and at the federal capitol in Washington DC, attendees are asked to arrive armed with signs, sound making devices, speeches planned and whatever attire makes their statement the most pronounced.

This will be a chance for Americans young and old to physically demonstrate to the world the massive amount of armed citizens in this country. It will be a peaceful demonstration to send a message to those in favor of gun control that Americans exist that will defend our nation, defend ourselves, defend our families and defend our rights from all threats foreign and domestic.

It will be a message that as a whole, The United States is fed up with the decimation of our rights slowly and one at a time. It will be a showing of Americans who no longer wish to remain content with the political destruction of the culture of our nation. It will be a UNIFIED effort by ANY owner of firearms in this nation to be physically represented and seen by your leaders for what you are; a force not to be trifled with.

If you are a gun owner, it is important that you understand gun laws in Wisconsin. Failure to follow these rules could mean facing serious criminal charges.

Quick Gun Law Overview

Wisconsin is an open carry state. This means that gun owners can carry a loaded gun in public. Gun owners do not need a permit or license to carry a gun in public. A person is considered to be “openly carrying” a gun when a casual observer can see the weapon.

To open carry, you need to be at least 18 years old. While permits are not required to carry a gun unconcealed, gun owners need a license to carry a weapon in a concealed manner. Also, cities or counties cannot make laws on gun possession that conflict with the state’s open carry laws.

So, about that "transition"

From Vox Popoli:

There isn't going to be any transition, for the obvious reason that a) Biden lost, and, b) Biden is one of dozens of politicians who have been corrupted by foreign funding.

Axios' Jonathan Swan reports a bombshell potential major disruption in a key part of the presidential transition before President-Elect Joe Biden is sworn in on January 20: the Pentagon has without warning or explanation halted Biden's intelligence transition briefings.

Reports Swan: "Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller ordered a Pentagon-wide halt to cooperation with the transition of President-elect Biden, shocking officials across the Defense Department, senior administration officials tell Axios."

Biden's team has so far maintained that it's unaware of the directive while Pentagon officials are said to be stunned and in the dark: "Administration officials left open the possibility cooperation would resume after a holiday pause," the breaking Axios report notes. "The officials were unsure what prompted Miller's action, or whether President Trump approved."

This is just the first step that is obvious to the public. There will be more, until it finally becomes obvious to the media that Biden will not be allowed anywhere near the White House.

Peter Navarro releases 36-page report alleging election fraud 'more than sufficient' to swing victory to Trump

Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Peter Navarro published a lengthy report Thursday outlining several examples of voting irregularities that are “more than sufficient” to swing the outcome of the election in President Trump’s favor.

The 36-page report “assesses the fairness and integrity of the 2020 Presidential Election by examining six dimensions of alleged election irregularities across six key battleground states” and concludes that “patterns of election irregularities ... are so consistent across the six battleground states that they suggest a coordinated strategy to, if not steal the election, strategically game the election process in such a way as to ... unfairly tilt the playing field in favor of the Biden-Harris ticket.”

The six dimensions of voting irregularities in the report include: outright voter fraud, ballot mishandling, contestable process fouls, equal protection clause violations, voting machine irregularities, and significant statistical anomalies.

All six of those voting issues were present in at least two key states, according to the report, and a total of six battleground states experienced multiple examples of the other dimensions.

Foxconn tells Wisconsin it never promised to build an LCD factory

Wisconsin stands by its rejection of the company’s subsidies, but both sides signal openness to amending the contract

A man walks past an office building with the Foxconn name displayed outside on Wednesday, May 8 2019 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Foxconn is a electronics contract manufacturing company, which is constructing a plant in south eastern Wisconsin creating thousands of jobs.
Photo by Joshua Lott for The Verge

In October, Wisconsin denied Foxconn subsidies because it had failed to build the LCD factory specified in its contract with the state. As The Verge reported, it had created a building one-twentieth the size of the promised factory, taken out a permit to use it for storage, and failed to employ anywhere near the number of employees the contract called for. Nevertheless, Foxconn publicly objected “on numerous grounds” to Wisconsin’s denial of subsidies.

Documents obtained through a records request show Foxconn’s rationale: it doesn’t think it was specifically promising to build an LCD factory at all. According to a November 23rd letter to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), Foxconn does not think the factory specified in the contract, an enormous Generation 10.5 LCD fabrication facility, was actually a “material” part of the contract. (“Material” is a legal term that means relevant or significant.)

What Happended To 2020 ?

Almost to the end of 2020, like all of you I feel empty & sad,  this year seems like we have ended a movie.  I have chosen to stay home & only go to important places.  I don't do well with wearing a mask if I do go out I wear one.  I have been home I have researched articles looked at many photos.  If i was a student now I'm sure i would of been an excellent student.  As I grew older I became more interested in many subjects of many fields.  In an ending note I would like to wish everyone a Healthy Safe End of The Year.   🎄

Tennessee nurse passes out after getting COVID-19 vaccine

A head nurse at a hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., caused a brief scare on Thursday when she fainted shortly after receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine, according to reports.

Tiffany Dover, the nurse manager at CHI Memorial, received the vaccine and then, a short time later, addressed the media. Video circulated online that showed her taking questions from reporters and then lose her train of thought.

"I’m sorry, I’m feeling really dizzy," she said. "I’m sorry."

She walked away from the rostrum and fainted. Doctors who were nearby managed to catch her.

News Channel 9 reported that minutes later she was able to address reporters. Doctors said the vaccine ingredients did not cause the episode.

Japan: Snow traps 1,000 drivers in frozen traffic jam

Rescuers are trying to free more than 1,000 vehicles which have been stranded on a highway for two days after a heavy snow storm struck Japan.

Authorities have distributed food, fuel and blankets to the drivers on the Kanetsu expressway, which connects the capital Tokyo to Niigata, in the north.

The snow, which began on Wednesday evening, has caused multiple traffic jams along the road.

It has also left more than 10,000 homes in the north and west without power.

A Kyodo News report said that there were multiple reports of congestion at different points of the Kanetsu expressway. The gridlock began when a trailer got stuck in snow on Wednesday night.

Another Kyodo report, quoting police and highway operator East Nippon Expressway Co, said the traffic jam had stretched up to 16.5km (10 miles) along the road at one point.

Officials have been using a combination of heavy machinery and physical labour to dig out the vehicles one by one, but around 1,000 cars were still stranded on the road as of Friday noon.

"We are trying our best to rescue drivers and passengers, we are ready to continue the operation through the night," a Niigata disaster management official told AFP on Thursday night.

PARIS — A former modeling agent and associate of the financier Jeffrey Epstein was arrested at an airport near Paris this week as part of an investigation into allegations of rape and sexual assault, including against minors, French prosecutors said on Thursday.

The agent, Jean-Luc Brunel, a Frenchman born in 1946, was arrested on Wednesday just north of Paris at the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport. The investigation into his activities also involves charges of sexual harassment and child trafficking, the Paris prosecutor’s office said.

The investigation is part of a broader inquiry that Paris prosecutors opened in August 2019 to uncover any potential offenses committed either in France or against French victims abroad in connection with the scandal involving Mr. Epstein, who was accused in the United States of sexually abusing and trafficking dozens of girls over extended periods of time

Re: "Chief Justice John Roberts Is Corrupt and Should Resign Immediately"

Good editorial from RT here: Wayne Dupree was invited to the White House to talk to President Trump on messaging to the black community. He was named in Newsmax’s top 50 Influential African-American Republicans in 2017, and, in 2016, served as a board member of the National Diversity Coalition for Donald Trump. Before entering politics, he served for eight years in the US Air Force.

Wayne Dupree: The revenge of the Establishment is complete – the deep state Trump sought to overcome has conspired to defeat him

Food for thought - Former City of Racine Mayor Gary Becker committed a thought crime - there was no actual victim - yet he was dragged through the mud, convicted as a felon, served years in Prison and is now a registered sex offender - his criminal report is here:

Billionaire Curt Johnson committed an actual crime - against an actual victim - yet was allowed to move the victim and her Mother out of State - the State refused to extradite the victim to testify and Curt's wife (more likely PR Team) began the Authorship work of Traci Stier Johnson, featuring her Blog and 30 days of Forgiveness. Curt Johnson received a slap on the wrist and is NOT a registered sex offender.

See: When S. Curtis “Curt” Johnson was first charged in March 2011, he faced a possible 40-year prison term for felony charges alleging he repeatedly sexually assaulted a child, his 12-year-old stepdaughter. By the time the court case ended over three years later, he had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct. At most, he would spend a year in jail.

But then, as one of his lawyer’s firms boasts on its website, he earned “dramatically reduced charges and sentencing” of four months in prison (he served just three) and a $6,000 fine. He never even had to register as a sex offender.

Three million users installed 28 malicious Chrome or Edge extensions

More than three million internet users are believed to have installed 15 Chrome, and 13 Edge extensions that contain malicious code, security firm Avast said today.

The 28 extensions contained code that could perform several malicious operations. Avast said it found code to:

  • redirect user traffic to ads
  • redirect user traffic to phishing sites
  • collect personal data, such as birth dates, email addresses, and active devices
  • collect browsing history
  • download further malware onto a user's device

But despite the presence of code to power all the above malicious features, Avast researchers said they believe the primary objective of this campaign was to hijack user traffic for monetary gains.

"For every redirection to a third party domain, the cybercriminals would receive a payment," the company said.

Avast said it discovered the extensions last month and found evidence that some had been active since at least December 2018, when some users first started reporting issues with being redirected to other sites.
