Two South Florida Democrats on Wednesday upped the pressure on far right Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene by procuring a U.S. House vote to oust her from congressional committees.
"We wouldn't be here if Republican leadership hadn't rewarded Rep. Greene with seats on the Budget and Education and Labor committees," said U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Boca Raton.
Deutch and fellow South Florida congressional Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz have led the charge to oust Greene from key House committees. Weston's Wasserman Schultz, like Deutch, represents portions of Broward County, home to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
"I have cried with the families of Parkland," Deutch said in reference to the 2018 mass shooting at the high school, which Greene has denigrated by calling it a "false flag" event. "I have grieved with the families of Parkland."
