A senior producer at CNN has been arrested and charged with enticing minors as young as 9-years-old to engage in unlawful sexual activity.
Between April and July of 2020, John Griffin - who worked on the CNN show New Day, allegedly used online messaging applications to communicate with the purported parents of minor daughters, according to a Vermont grand jury indictment.
When S. Curtis “Curt” Johnson was first charged in March 2011, he faced a possible 40-year prison term for felony charges alleging he repeatedly sexually assaulted a child, his 12-year-old stepdaughter. By the time the court case ended over three years later, he had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct. At most, he would spend a year in jail.
But then, as one of his lawyer’s firms boasts on its website, he earned “dramatically reduced charges and sentencing” of four months in prison (he served just three) and a $6,000 fine. He never even had to register as a sex offender.
