Racine Zoo Amur tiger dies from complications during routine exam

From Fox6Now:

Anya, Amur tiger

The Racine Zoo is mourning the passing of one of its two Amur tigers.

Anya, 16, was undergoing a routine sedation exam to check on her overall health, check bloodwork, and give her injections for her arthritis when she was lost to complications during the procedure. Subsequent testing showed that Anya was suffering from advanced stages of lung cancer, leading to the complications.

Amur tigers have an average life span in the wild of 10 – 14 years. Officials say Anya was a senior cat and unfortunately, cancer is not uncommon in older big cats. Zoo staff are grieving the difficult loss, but happy that they were able to provide Anya with a wonderful "retirement home" for the later half of her life.

Anya is survived by Naka, the Zoo’s other Amur tiger, who is currently 17 years old and also considered a geriatric cat. Both tigers, as with all animals at the Zoo, are seen routinely by the Racine Zoo veterinary team, who are also currently monitoring Naka’s health daily as she continues to enjoy her golden years.

Anya was born at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina on May 9, 2005. and lived there until September 2015. Officials say when Anya first came to Racine six years ago, she was very quiet and timid. But her primary keeper, Amy Petersen, recalls that as the months progressed, she slowly came out of her shell.

A news release says Anya was known for her love of pork chops and fall scents. Nothing would make her go crazier than pumpkin or apple pie seasoning. Her keepers will definitely miss the chuff conversations they used to have back and forth during mealtime.

Racine homicide: Man charged, woman found dead

From Fox6Now:

Montreal Greer

A 39-year-old Racine man is charged with first-degree intentional homicide for the death of Rebecca Rannow on Aug. 13.

Prosecutors say Montreal Greer shot and killed the 41-year-old woman at her home and took a video game system that he later sold.

Police were called Aug. 13 to perform a welfare check at the home near Edgewood and High. There, police found Rannow. An autopsy determined she died from multiple gunshot wounds and that she likely died the previous morning.

After being unable to substantiate any leads at first, investigators later received video from around the time and place of the homicide. The video showed a man walking "with a particular gait," according to a criminal complaint.

The man walked down Frederick and turned toward train tracks that led to Edgewood and the victim's home. After roughly 25 minutes out of view, the complaint states the man reappeared in the video around 2:50 a.m. and dropped what appeared to be a pillowcase "with something heavy inside" near the train tracks. The man picked it up and walked on the track. He then walked down Albert Street until a different camera showed him walking across Memorial toward High Street.

Rebecca Rannow

The complaint states the pillowcase seen on video was missing from one of the victim's pillows. A video game system was also missing.

As the investigation continued, Greer was arrested on Sept. 3. He had a gun by his side. According to the complaint, the casings recovered from the homicide scene matched that gun. Greer said he had bought it from someone a few days earlier, but the complaint states that person had already been ruled out as a suspect.

On Sept. 14, a search warrant was executed at an address linked to Greer. There, police reviewed surveillance video which showed Greer arrive around 3 a.m. the morning of the homicide. He had what looked like a bag or pillowcase in his hand and was wearing the same clothing as the man seen in the previous video.

Greer consented to a search of his phone, the complaint states. On it, police found a photo of him wearing the same hooded sweatshirt as seen in the videos.

Investigators later learned the Greer, Rannow and another person used to live together at the home where Rannow was found dead. Greer and the other person no longer lived there at the time. The other person was shown the initial video, and "was 100% sure" it was Greer, noting his gait, according to the complaint.

The person told police that Greer knew the victim's dogs. The dogs were closed in a bedroom when police arrived for the welfare check, something Rannow would never do herself but Greer could have done because he knew the dogs, according to the complaint. The person also said Greer may have been trying to steal money. It was learned that Greer sold the video game console to a retailer.

Greer is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.

Greer made an initial court appearance on Friday, Sept. 17 – cash bond set at $1 million. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 29.

Judge: Prosecutors can't show Rittenhouse link to Proud Boys

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A judge says prosecutors can't argue a man who shot three people, killing two, during a protest against police brutality in Wisconsin is linked to the Proud Boys white nationalist group.

Kyle Rittenhouse, of Antioch, Illinois, faces multiple charges in the August 2020 shootings in Kenosha.

Prosecutors asked Judge Bruce Schroeder if they can argue at trial in November that Rittenhouse's beliefs align with the Proud Boys and he traveled to the protests because the group advocates violence against Black Lives Matter supporters.

Schroeder ruled Friday that there's no evidence Rittenhouse was affiliated with the group on the night of the shootings.

FDA panel approves COVID-19 booster for 65+, high risk Americans

A Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel voted 18-0 to authorize a Pfizer booster shot for Americans 65 years and older and those at risk of severe COVID-19 infection.

The panel also voted to authorize a booster shot for those who are at risk of severe COVID-19 due to their job, including health care workers, teachers, and essential infrastructure workers.

In a blow to President Joe Biden's vaccine plan, the panel previously voted to not approve booster shots for all Americans.

Biden had previously said that booster shots would be available for Americans by Sept. 20.

In data released by the FDA on Wednesday, Pfizer argued that vaccine booster shots were not only safe and effective but would be necessary for all Americans over 16 because real-world studies show the effectiveness of the first two doses wanes over time.

The data also showed that a third vaccine dose restored efficacy in preventing COVID-19 to up to 95%.

The Associated Press reports that the panel voiced frustration that Pfizer had provided little data on the safety of the extra doses, and wouldn't dramatically change the arc of the pandemic if all Americans were offered a booster shot.

The Centers for Disease Control will meet next week to review the panel's decision.

The Conspiracy Theorists Were Right; It IS a "Poison-Death Shot"

“I’ll do one more mind experiment with you: If everyone on the planet were to get Covid and not get treated, the death-rate globally would be less than half a percent. I’m not advocating for that, because 35 million people would die. However, if we follow the advice of some of the global leaders– like Bill Gates who said last year said “7 billion people need to be vaccinated”– then the death-rate will be over 2 billion people! SO, WAKE UP! THIS IS WORLD WAR 3! We are seeing a level of malevolence that we haven’t seen in the history of humanity!” Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, Author of The Zelenko “Early Treatment” Protocol that saved thousands of Covid-19 patients. (“Zelenko schools the Rabbinic Court”, Rumble; start at 11:45 minutes)

Did the regulators at the FDA know that all previous coronavirus vaccines had failed in animal trials and that the vaccinated animals became either severely ill or died?

Yes, they did.

Did they know that previous coronavirus vaccines had a tendency to “enhance the infection” and “make the disease worse”?

Yes.

Did Dr Anthony Fauci know that coronavirus vaccines had repeatedly failed and increased the severity of the infection?

Yes, he did. (See here: Fauci on ADE)

Did the drug companies conduct any animal trials prior to the FDA’s approval that would have convinced a reasonable person that the vaccines were safe to use on humans?

No, they didn’t.

Did they complete long-term clinical trials to establish whether the vaccines were safe?

No, there were no long-term clinical trials.

Did they conduct any biodistribution studies that showed where the substance in the injection goes in the body?

They did, but the data was not made available to the public.

Do the contents of the vaccine largely collect in various organs and in the lining of the vascular system?

Yes, they do.

Do large amounts of the substance accumulate in the ovaries?

Yes.

Will this effect female fertility and a woman’s ability to safely bring a baby to term?

The drug companies are currently researching this. The results are unknown.

Does the vaccine enter the bloodstream and collect in the lining of the blood vessels forcing the cells to produce the spike protein?

Yes.

Is the spike protein a “biologically active” pathogen?

It is.

Does the spike protein cause blood clots and leaky blood vessels in a large percentage of the people that are vaccinated?

It does, although the blood clots are mostly microscopic and appear in the capillaries. Only a small percentage of vaccinees get strokes or suffer cardiac arrest.

Should people be made aware of these possible bad outcomes before they agree to get vaccinated? (“Informed consent”)

Yes.

Did the FDA know that Pfizer had “identified vaccine-associated enhanced disease, including vaccine-associated enhanced respiratory disease, as an important potential risk”?

City of Oshkosh reduces fine for cannabis possession to $75

OSHKOSH — The Oshkosh Common Council passed an ordinance Tuesday that lowers the fine for first-offense cannabis possession from $200 to $75, plus court fees.

Council members passed amended ordinance 21-467 with a vote of 6-1. Deputy Mayor Matt Mugerauer cast the one vote against the measure, but did not speak on his decision during the meeting, according to local news outlets.

Oshkosh is following a trend among Wisconsin municipalities and counties towards decriminalizing marijuana, though the Republican-controlled state legislature has not recently been responsive to legalizing the Schedule I drug under federal laws.

Back in March, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution 16-1 that decreases the fine for possessing cannabis to $1. The resolution's lead sponsor, Supervisor Sylvia Ortiz-Velez, argued that many people could not afford the fines - and that the fines unfairly impacted people of color.

The Milwaukee County resolution cited an American Civil Liberties Union report that argues Black people are 4.2 times more likely than white people to be arrested for cannabis possession in Wisconsin.

The fine in Milwaukee County had been $275 plus legal fees before the resolution.

Most of Wisconsin's neighbors have already taken action. Illinois and Michigan have made cannabis legal recreationally and medically, while Minnesota has made it legal for medical purposes. Only Iowa has not passed similar laws.

Cannabis is still illegal under federal law.

'People are dying out here in these streets': Milwaukee activists demand action against reckless driving

From TMJ4:

MILWAUKEE — It's an issue that residents in Milwaukee are seeing all too often. Reckless driving down busy roads and crowded streets often ending in a crash.

"People are dying out here in these streets," said community activist Tracey Dent during a press conference Wednesday.

38 deadly wrecks have been recorded in the city so far this year, according to the city's reckless driving task force.

"People are moving out of our community, they no longer want to live in Milwaukee because of the violence," said Milwaukee resident Tynnetta Jackson.

Poster image - 2021-09-15T221356.306.jpg

The group says three major things need to happen right now to put the brakes on the problem. The first includes harsher penalties for reckless drivers.

"They get arrested, two hours later they are back out on the streets doing the same thing," said Dent.

They also argue that there needs to be new legislation created specifically to address reckless driving, as well as implementing better drivers education courses in schools.

"We need to start setting examples and setting the bar, raising it a little bit higher to show these reckless drivers that we are not taking this anymore," said Dent.

Poster image - 2021-09-15T221430.714.jpg

Milwaukee police launched a traffic safety unit in February specifically targeting reckless drivers. In a statement, MPD says they encourage the community to "discuss the dangers of reckless driving with their peers, acquaintances, and youth to discourage them from engaging in this type of activity."

But some say that's still not enough.

"We need to get a task force together, a group together from all walks of life in our community and all sectors and come together and brainstorm to do something," said Jackson.

"We say that Milwaukee is a great place to live, then prove it too. Do what it takes to save people's lives," said Dent.

'I'm not a pervert' | Racine man allegedly filmed a woman taking a shower

From The Journal Times.com:

FRANKSVILLE — A Racine man allegedly filmed a woman taking a shower.

Valdez
Rio E. Valdez, 27, of the 800 block of Wolff Street, was charged with a felony count of capture an intimate representation without consent and misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy using surveillance device and disorderly conduct.

According to a criminal complaint:

At 3:08 p.m. on Sunday, a deputy with the Racine County Sheriff's Office was sent to a hose in the 4300 block of West Highway K following a report of a man who filmed a woman while she took a shower.

Upon arrival, the officer spoke to a woman who said her sister received a message from Valdez that contained a video of her exiting the shower. She asked why he had a video of her sister, and he said he thought it was a video of her and not her sister. He then said "I'm not a pervert," and "I'm sorry, I really am, I didn't do it because it was her."

The video was recorded through a small crack in the drywall between the floor and the wall in the bathroom. The woman then took the deputy to the bathroom and showed him a small gap between the floor and the wall behind the toilet. She said that Valdez took the video from this spot.

Valdez was given a $5,000 signature bond in Racine County Circuit Court on Monday. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 29 at the Racine County Law Enforcement Center, 717 Wisconsin Ave., online court records show.
