*****A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FROM 5PM TODAY UNTIL 6PM TUESDAY FOR DODGE, FOND DU LAC, JEFFERSON, WASHINGTON, OZAUKEE, SHEBOYGAN, AND WAUKESHA COUNTIES****
*****A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FROM 11 PM TODAY UNTIL 6PM TUESDAY FOR MILWAUKEE, RACINE, KENOSHA, AND WALWORTH COUNTIES******
After 50s and gusty winds on Sunday, today was cloudy, windy and colder with temps in the 30s. Now we are bracing for the first significant icing since 2016. That begins this evening, with the peak of ice and sleet from 10pm until noon. A winter weather advisory is in effect for most of SE WI from now until 6pm Tuesday. Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Walworth counties start at 11pm until 6pm Tuesday. Those areas start later because the initial precipitation should be rain before changing to ice. Lows stay around 30 and we stay near 32 most of the day on Tuesday. Most areas could see up to 025" of ice...enough to bring down some power lines and small branches. More importantly, the roads will be very slick. The ice then changes to a dusting of snow by late afternoon and evening as temps drop into the 20s.
Wednesday is partly cloudy, breezy and chilly with temps in the low 20s. Snow is likely on Thursday with 1-3" expected at this time. Friday is sunny and chilly with highs in the low 20s, and we stay in the upper 20s this weekend with some sun and a brisk breeze.
