I lived in Florida for many years and am a longtime fan of St. Petersburg Times columnist Howard Troxler. I was just out of school when I moved to Florida and reading his column helped instill a love of the area in me and the inspiration to start getting involved in local government, going to board meetings, writing letters, and speaking up when local officials were doing something stupid.
So I would like to point to his column today: "Advice to New Grads: Don't Be and Idiot". This column really captures a lot of good tips for bloggers (even though it is not explicitly about blogging). Even though a lot of people here do follow many of these guidelines, I have rarely seen all these spelled out so nicely in one place.

Excellent article! An it is very aprapo (?) to blogging. There are too many so called bloggers that merely cut and past (repeat) what they have seen or heard from others. And there are those that get so hung up on facts, they have no understanding what they (the "facts") signify. Logical or not, right or wrong, I will give someone more credit that will synthesize a thought of their own, rather to reference a link.
I like this advice too. Video of Wear Sunscreen. I couldn't get it to post as a link, sorry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?

Loved it and printed it out for my recent grad, but our mini vacation wore her out and she's in bed already, she'll have to read it tomorrow, she'll love it too :)
