I was born and raised in Racine, and have lived here most of my adult life, but I've never been to the County Fair. I've been to the State Fair a number of times. I even went to the old Kraut Festival in Franksville a few times.
So, what's it like? I imagine it's a good deal for families, with something for the kids and the adults. The biggest draw for me probably would be the food and demolition derbies. Nothing like watching cars smash-'em-up on a gut full of brats and cream puffs. Woo-hoo!

I never went to the Racine County Fair...I went to the Manatee County Fair once when I lived in Florida. It seemed very seedy to me which sort of turned me off the whole experience (although I did see the photography contest and wanted to enter some of my work!)
I went once when my kids performed with the Summer Show Band. I wasn't too impressed, although it was about 120 degrees in the shade that day. I felt bad for the animals.
When I was a child I my whole family was very active in 4H and we went every year because we always had exhibitions in. It was fun. I am planning on going this year because my niece who is 8 is here visiting and she should enjoy it.
The last time I went it was geared toward family fun. I have fond memories of it. Let's hope it lives up to those memories.
I haven't been there much. I too, did 4-H and entered stuff, did pretty good :)
Orbs, if you want to go to a demo derby there, hubby and I are heading out Sunday early afternoon with a friends to go for the demo derby, you're more the welcome to join us - let me know :)
I haven't been there since I was a kid. Been thinking about going for some time now. My son has never been there.I think he might like the demo derby.
