Hey gang. I'm doing rehab at a private nursing home in south Keno. I had to have ATT turn on(?) a phone line to the room, then access my
RR account through dial up. I seem to be the only normal person here, but because I'm deaf, I keep getting treated like the aged and mentally infirm. Even so, I'm being treated better here than St. Mary's. I'll never again use that place for anything.
Chest pain is becoming manageable, strength is returning. Docs have me on a weight limit. How can anyone regain strength if they can't lift more than 7 pounds? I'm feircly independant and PT is in cahoots with me. SHHHHH
One flew over the Coocoo's nest comes to mind. I even have a nurse Kratchet. Food miserably sucks here. Got my old dorm fridge in the room and it is well stocked. Not going hungry, but eating very little of their food. I'm sure there are better nursing/rehab places available, just All St's didn't offer any up, and familyn didn't know we could name our own choices besides what All St's loaded on me.
Oh well, anyhow, I'm alive and 18 ndays post op. Health/strength wise, things are looking up. Thanks for the concerns and well wishes

so good to hear from you, I was so worried!! I'd be glad to smuggle food up to you, should be making lasanga this week! If interested, let me know, I deliver :)
Oh huck, SO GOOD to hear from you. The recovery can be slow with that, but if you do the rehab you can really get back to your normal self. Good luck, glad you are somewhere where you are being treated better. I don't think any of those places are much different than others. Hang in there, you should be home soon.
Hey, Huck ... good to hear from you. So glad you are doing better, and it sounds like you are firmly on the road to recovery. Hope you get to go back home soon!! Take care, and keep us posted.
Definitely sounds like you are recovering.....
Huck, there should a nursing home advocate that shows up periodically and visits with each patient...keep your eyes open. But better yet, when you get out, you should be contacted for an evaluation of your rehab care.
I hope you get your butt out of there quickly. Once you can manage your own self-care, your home is a much better place to recover.
BTW, anyone needing to utilize a nursing home for a loved one, should visit several unannounced. If they refuse to show you around, eliminate them from your list.
I wish I didn't know as much as I do, but anyone who needs assistance, let me know. Been there done that way too much in the last couple of years.
Are heart patients supposed to be up at 1 in the morning? Tsk, tsk, Huck.
Good to hear from you and glad you're doing better.
"I keep getting treated like the aged and mentally infirm" Of course you are because you're Irregular! I wouldn't be lifting more than 7 pounds if I were you, unless you want to rip out those sternal wires. But remember as Yogi Berra once quipped
"Things get better if they don't get worse first." Take care.
Good to hear from ya.
I bet you sure don't want to cough for sneeze! Hopefully that's getting better.
If lizardmom brings you lazanga, you can't have that without beer so I can drop that off. I'm in K-town at a minimum once if not twice a week.
My daughter is a CNA and stated that in no uncertain terms would she EVER allow me to be put into a nursing home.
Get well soon Huck!
Huck, I was very serious about lasanga, I am making it sometime this week, REALLY, if I can bring some up to you, I'd be very happy to do so, I ALWAYS make too much!! email me and I will deliver :)

hugs to you !!
Good to hear from you, Huck! Welcome back to the land of the blogging!
It's so GREAT to hear from you! Glad to hear that you're doing better. If you ever need anything, just holler!
Ok, and I'm making beef and chorizo (and venison) stuffed poblano peppers and will have easily twice what I'll need.
We'll inundate you with good food and speed your recovery (beer is therapeutic, isn't it?).
It's futile to resist, Huck.... give in and let the nice ladies feed you.
Good to hear from you! Sending healing vibes your way!
Huck, my friend, so glad to hear from you. Keep healing, and dont put up with crap.
