Glad it's FRIDAY and an INPUT BLOG!!

Updated: Please place your vote for which location you prefer

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYBODY!!
YEAH! We made it thru another rough week,
when will the madness end??

Any big plans for the weekend, or just kicking back
and relaxing?
I'm doing the latter while also continuing the
dread and tedious recipe task that I keep stalling out on...

NOW FOR THE INPUT PORTION OF THE PROGRAM...
We need another get together, ideas anybody?
Something to do, somewhere to go,
who's interested??
SPEAK UP FOLKS!!!
We need another occasion to get the countdown timer going
once school starts (I know how the kids LOVE to see
the school-starting countdown timer!!)

  1. I forgot the creepy thought of the day -
I AM NOT the only lizardmom out there!!
I googled myself for kicks and found that there are a handful of us out there :(
I thought I was an original...
Who would have thought I wasn't the only lizard crazed person by that moniker?? Beware of imposters, I'm the real deal :) Really!!

  2. Ideas -

we could do a repeat of the last one

we could try out the upcoming San Fransisco Grill where Dani Marie's tanked, it's really starting to look cool

We could do anything we want to, lets get the ideas rolling!!

  4. Sorry to the kids for the back to school timer. I needed a date to keep the code active....at least in my brain.

While beer is always good, so is wine, pete. Are you gonna join us this time around?

Either idea you mentioned, lizardmom, is ok with me. Just getting together and sharing friendship is the main goal. The pot luck idea is fun and worked well. Heck, I got a pie out of it! :>

I'm not big on the sports venue myself (brewers game, that is) The cost and transportation may be prohibitive to some. Also, we like to gab... and sitting in a row might make that hard to do.

I told lizardmom that I chatted with her alter ego a couple of days ago, online, by mistake. Another very nice person, but not OUR cruise director, not OUR lizardmom...

  5. Yo Lizardmom,

We could go down to the Oasis if Drew (I think it was Drew) set something up. Or meet at the zoo, or get together at the County Fair grounds or maybe hangout in the mall parking lot, lots of options to look at.

  6. Going to St.Rita's Festival tomorrow. Maybe the the beach on Sunday.

It's going to be a long week next week. Machine partner going on vacation. Possible overtime(YUCK).

Lizardmom-either idea is good with me. As long as we all can hang out together is good to me.

KK-I agree with you on the ball game thing. Never been to Miller Park. I'd like to go someday. If I brought my son, that'll be some major $$$ spent.

SER-It'll be hard to book something at the Oasis at this time. It shuts down after the Labor Day weekend. Believe me,it'll be packed that weekend. The zoo idea is good.

  7. Lizardmom, I've never met another OrbsCorbs online, but I have another username I use elsewhere that others have registered. When I try to register and see that it's already taken, I think, "Hey, that's my name."

I vote for the mall parking lot. Or the cafe at Wal-Mart. Monument Square?

Maybe we should try to keep it outdoors because the weather will be nasty soon enough? What does the zoo cost now? Do they still have picnic tables on the grounds? In the fall, we should try Petrifying Springs Park. Gorgeous.

I don't know if I want to be a regular at Irregular events.

  8. Oh, my project for the weekend is to get the TV tuner timer to actually record the Three Stooges program on Channel 19, Sundays, noon to 2 PM. I watch it slowly over the week (5 shorts), then delete it and record another one.

September 20th sounds like a good date. Only reason I’ll be busy from now till then on weekends. I know, I’m selfish, but this would give us enough time to get everyone together. And I might even be able to find DZ....Laugh’in.

If you like, I’ll write to Gary and ask him if he would like to join us? NOT....!!!!

For location...I like Orb’s idea, Petrifying Springs Park or the zoo, but still open for suggestions.

I well I can’t sleep so I’m going for a ride to see if there are any drunks on the road tonight.

  10. Pet's is a great idea. It is a beautiful park, especially in the fall. Do you have to reserve space after Labor Day or is it just "squatter's rights?" It is a big park, I would think we could find some space there. Usually, the less formal, the better.

I'm all for waiting until mid September. I have lots going on and will be busy for awhile too. Sorry lizardmom, I won't be very much help this time around.

  11. Dear Google/Blogspot.com:

Please create a chatroom element for blogspot so that SER and others who suffer from insomnia or have to work insane hours like Lizardmom or idiots like me who worship their monitor like the sun can chat in the middle of the night.

    Your friend,
    Orbscorbs

  12. Pets sounds good. Anyone bringing golf clubs?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Logjam...bring your clubs, I have about ohhhh 900 balls we can drive into the woods...for real.

Didn't see toooo many drunks, but a whole lotta cops. The idiots had them busy last night!

  14. Orbs, that's the only time being regular is ok, other than getting together, being regular is not allowed!!! :)
I haven't been to the zoo yet this year, so I'm game.

I think the zoo is free on Mondays to Racine residents, or it used to be at least. I haven't been there this year yet, I'm game, when is good for everybody?

The park also sounds good, I say lets do both!! We could start at the zoo then head to the park for a late lunch or early supper, what do you think guys?? Sept 20 is open for us!!

SER, definitely get DZ and family to come!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I can head down to the zoo Monday and check it for picnic tables and get back to you, who can do the info checking on the park?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I just emailed the zoo to ask about group rates if we can get at least 20 together (with the kids, I don't think it will be a problem), also asked about picnic table areas, I hope to hear back by Monday.
I would hope that the park wouldn't be as crazy in September as it will be in the last 2 weeks before school starts, so we should be fine on both accounts.

  17. 900 balls eh? The way I play that ought to cover...say....the first three holes.

  18. Lizardmom, you are also Supermom. I don't know if I can handle two venues in one day, but I'll go along with the majority.

I found this pdf file concerning rentals at Pets: http://www.co.kenosha.wi.us/publicworks/parks/documents/2008_Rental_Info.pdf I can't seem to find online what "areas" they are referencing, but I have a mental image of most of the shelters, I believe. I don't know that we'd need/want one of those.

At the bottom of the page, it says: "If not previously reserved, all of the above are free to use on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Reservations can be made in advance by contacting the Park Administration Office at 262-653-
1869 or 262-857-1869. All open space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis ONLY." So, yeah, squatters' rights on the open areas. I'll call on Monday and see what has been reserved for the 2oth and maybe get a better idea of what the areas are.

  19. Orbs, I am just throwing out ideas, seems to be about equal interest in the zoo as well as the park.

it's time for the people to decide,

Please give us your honest input -

Zoo, or Pets Park , or both.

I can go either way, and will only coordinate what you guys want to do, majority wins, and I'm neutral, so I won't be voting :)

    NEED INPUT PLEASE!! :)

I think the only set thing is the date - Saturday, Sept. 20th

also please give input as to what time would work best for everybody.
There are no wrong answers, just fact finding here guys :)

    thanks everybody!!

  20. My vote is for Pets. Some blankets or lawn chairs, some food or snacks to munch on, a cooler or two for refreshments, (plastic cups so we don't get arrested) a ball, frisbee, kite, whatever you want... you have the the swings and stuff to keep the kids busy. Someone will have to be assigned to keep SER off the slide....

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would prefer the Zoo, but Pet's is ok with me.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think we'll be enjoying much color in Sept. at Pet's, so it doesn't matter to me. The zoo should be closer for most people. Plenty to keep the kids occupied there, and I can visit my relatives.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 3 votes in so far, about 20 still need to vote, let's keep 'em rolling in!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I moved your blog to the top, lizardmom, so that everyone finds it again and places their vote. Hope you don't mind.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I live about 5 minutes from the zoo,so,I'll take the zoo. Pets is OK with me if the majority goes that way.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Pets...my choice.

As for the drive, makes no never mind to me, hell I drive 5 hours one way for a party.

KK, I’ll stay off the slide if I can play on the swings. No merry-go-round for me...noooooo.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I vote Pets. :) I love it out there and I can build a mean fire in one of those 'eh-um' grills they have. :)
And......... I can even bring my dog!
You keep the beer cold, I'll keep the fire going.

No, I am not a pyromaniac.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Pets! And we can all go on an expedition to find the Witches' House:-)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm a pyromaniac.... I can build a good fire too. Well, maybe I'm just a good girl scout. I have a purse full of bandaids... the always be prepared thing. I'm glad you are planning on joining us this time around DA.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Pets. My fire motto is "MORE WOOD." As for dogs, heck yes. Bring em all out. I still miss my Hay and it's always nice to speak dog with dogs.

    Oh yeah, I'M HOOOOME!!!!!!!

I arrived midday Saturday. It feels good to be hete.

Going to finally cash my Fed economy check and have some hand controls installed in my car. It's time to admit my legs are shot, and I've become a danger to myself and others if I keep driving with foot controls. Hope to have the new controls installed by this weekend.

Anyhow,it's about equal distance to either the Zoo or Pets, but I like Pets more, and dogs and fires sound like fun.
