Sometimes you have to be responsible and do the right thing. Such was the case when I grounded myself from driving. The legs had gotten too screwed with this progressive crap of mine aand I was becoming unsafe. While others go forward and damn the consequences, I'm big on self responsibility.
Today we installed a set of hand controls someone on the Net tossed my way. It's good to have Bikers helping bikers in the world. My buddy John spent the last four hours on his knees leaning into the car and the end result is a high quality (albet old and with peeling chrome) set of hand controls installed in my car. After three trips around te block, all I can say is YEE HAAAAA. This set is built like a tank so any small amount of dirt and peeling chrome is minor spuds indeed.
Time for some 409 and a rag, and I'll be like down town.

That's fantastic, Huck! I'm glad you have your mobility and freedom back.
huck, I am so happy for you! I'm glad you are being smart and careful. I'm currently on a no drive temporary time-out too. It sucks not to be independent when you are used to coming and going yourself when needed. Continue to be smart and enjoy your freedom too... congrats!
Congrats Huck!!!
Now you're unstoppable!
Congrats Huck! Now you're able to ride free again!
This is, indeed, great news Huck. Congratulations.....
A REAL eye opening website. Check it out. Racine will be featured on this website very soon I'm sure.

Great, Huck. You often get more done through networking than through agencies. Your buddy John is a special guy.
Our entire society is constructed around motor vehicles. If you're elderly/disabled, how are you supposed to get around, get things done, without wheels?
Oh, and I salute you for having the sense to stop driving when it became hazardous. My mother had a friend with macular degeneration (eye condition) who stopped driving after he nearly hit some guy on the side of the street. I hope that I have the courage to do the same should I ever become severely impaired, but I doubt it.
Back on the road again...going all Willie Nelson on us!
