This is an Idiot tax/Semi-Darwin award story involving probably one of the best (soon to be former) receivers in the NFL. What a colossal ass. Many of us dreamt of having just 1/10th of the athletic ability of someone like Plaxico. Why so many of them just piss it all away will always be a mystery to me.

Should we really be surprised? They are taught that they are above the law. We treat athletes like gods, someone follows them through college and does their work, pampers and coddles them through any misdoings they bring upon themselves. We throw unfathomable money their way. Most of these athletes have no idea how to handle this lifestyle.
I always like it when morons shoot themselves with their own guns. lol.
I can almost understand all of those people conspiring not to report the incident, too, except for the hospital - are they crazy?
Plaxico Burress is done for the season, including playoffs.
.40 cal Glock......That's the same kind that Sheriff in Ohio shot himself with. What is it with these idiots?
It’s not only the court system doing hand slaps, it’ also the NFL and AFL and the rest of the leagues. Get caught for doing drugs and most of you will lose your job...you’re done for life.
As it stands today, the system helps these individuals out while paying them millions of dollars.
Yes KK, you are correct, “We treat athletes like gods”. They are suppose to be role models for young children, whether they like it or not. So what are these idiots teaching; snorting cocaine, carrying weapons and fighting in public is okay?
It is time ALL the team owner (including baseball and basketball) fire these bums and band them from playing for the rest of their life.
Plaxico received a fine, woop-t-do, if the leagues are truly serious, they should give the fine money to players (one that comes to mind and I know there are many others) like Donald Driver who does many things for children and communities. Let these outstanding players pass the money on to a kids club or some other community charity. I am sure they could use the cash.
