Ok, everyone take out their copy of "The Prince" by Machiavelli.
A buzz has surfaced regarding the divorce filing of Mrs. Becker. The speculation is that the real reason for the filing is to protect their assets from litigation.
Basically, if they divorce and she is awarded all of the big ticket items (House, cars, savings/investments), then they can't be touched if someone sues the Mayor, because they will no longer be owned by him.
Who would be suing him? Well, if he has "corresponded" with a real 14 year old girl/girls (remember, they have thousands of lines of chat from his computer), then the parents could possibly sue for damaging their child.
I can't verify if this is accurate, but it is interesting speculation.

Now that he's no longer the mayor, I don't find him that interesting. Pedos and baby rapers are, unfortunately, pretty common filth these days.
If I were the parent of a child that Becker molested, I'd be thinking along the lines of more personal retribution than a lawsuit.
I'm with you on that one, Orbs.
It seems to me that this could be some kind of Lawyer's trick, but, as previously stated, there's no way to know.
I think more likely would be the DA or the state getting some of the assests as civil penalties. In particular, the public misconduct charge tends to bring fines in addition to jail time. Those in Government that I know of that have gone to prison usually have to pay some large fine.
As if the original sin isn't dirty enough for us to try to comprehend.... {{shudder}}
Unnamed sources are saying that Sick Bastard Becker's wife and kids moved out before Thanksgiving. She did what she had to do to protect her kids. I think she knew her hubby was a diaper swiper.
Didn't hear that one, RW. Reliable source?
Stu...
The court papers list Mrs. Becker’s address as Chatham St., which is, were they live. GB’s address is not listed...coward. As for filing for divorce, you can see a lawyer on one day and the papers will be filed the next day. It does not take long.
As for protecting her (their) assets, the girl was fictitious and I don’t believe a fictitious person can’t sue you. HOWEVER, if there is one out there that comes forward from the past, which maybe possible based on what we have read, they may have a chance to do something. I guess I don’t foresee it.
