I completely forgot tthis old wonder until I started to make a bach of cookies. I inherited this heavy clunky POWERFUL thing from mom when she went for newer/lighter. Cuz I'm a guy, I like more power so I grabbed it up when it became an orphan. I own and use a 1948 Dornmeyer "Mixwell" mixer. Nothing slows this down. The stand is gone, the bowls are gone, the meat grinder is gone, but I still have the beaters, and it still grunts through some heavy batter.
1948, does this make me the winner? Oh, my sister gave me a new stand mixer years and years ago, but it'sa still in it's plastic bag. Just not as powerfull as my Dornmeyer.

You got me beat, Huck!
I mean this affectionately Huck; men and their toys. You with old mixers and my husband just got his old hot wheels out of the attic. We now have a racetrack instead of a pool table.
Wow... that baby is even older than me!
My mom had an old mixer like that. They made them industrial strength back then. She used it primarily for the meat grinder attachment. When it died, I just got her a meat grinder - she never used the mixer. Your mixer is older than me, too, Huck.
there's nothing liked a good old ringer wash machine to eat up fingers.
