Mom is turned 81 last week. The music she likes has an older flair. Co8untry music, meant COUNTRY. There wasn't flashing lights, fireworks and smoke machines, nor sissyfied line dancing either. Just some good old crooners with a snappy beat. Hey Abby, this song is for you ya Brunette hotty you.

Thanks Huck, you stud!.This one brings me back to my grandmas kitchen. She had a big counsel radio in her kitchen, it played all country all day. Grandma was always cooking something so she kinda lived in the kitchen and I loved to be there with her. By afternoon most of her kids would come over (she had 14 kids) and they’d all coffee clutch and sing along….BTW thanks it’s been awhile since I was called a hottie!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy belated b-day to your mom…..
I'll tell ya what's hot... that sheet music suit he is wearing :)
I recognize that song. My mom used to sing it and dance around too, huck. That was her genre. She loved Dolly Pardon when she became popular. Eventually, she learned to like the Beatles and then the Eagles too.
Yep, happy big 81, hucks mom. Whew, I hope I make there.
Makes me think of Buck Owens and my first girlfriends parents playing his music on the big old record player in their recreation room in the basement. Most people today don't even know what REAL country music was.
It don't get more country than this: I'M SO LONESOME I COULD CRY (1949) by Hank Williams
Thank you Orbs. That is more than a classic There are other Crying in your beer songs, but that is the Anthem. Now I have to go find the lyrics so it plays right in my head.
A voice like that is a gift from God. You can hear the landscape and the heartache in his voice.
Or a gift from the cosmos in your case.
