They're worried about how the recession is gong to affect the Big Gig:
"Organizers of the event billed as the world's largest music festival are approaching the opening day Thursday uncertain about how many of their dedicated customers will be cutting back or staying home this year.
"It's reasonable to expect that families' bottom lines will affect Summerfest's bottom line. The question is just how much."

I normally don't go at all. I dislike large crowds of people and the heat. And I can't afford it, anyway.

Well being a senior citizen I get discounts all over, and I read the ads where they say how you can get in free (bringing something) and it is also near my son's birthday 07/02 so I treat him for a day with me at the fest. I like just sitting around and watching all the people/couples and wondering 'just how they ever met?' LOL That's the day I get my tan cause I won't go to the beach alone. Being somewhere alone can be so sad.
Yes, I am! My special friend and I have plans to see Back Door Slam and Heart this year.
I've never been. I bet it is fun. The criminal element is making me question attending large functions more and more lately. Seems every teenager has a weapon. It is nothing to hear of 5 separate shootings in one evening in Milwaukee.
We used to go every year, spend a day listening to a variety of music. I love it!.. But we haven't gone in a couple years. Just too expensive and the time restraints. *damn that husband's job!* LOL
When Summerfest started, I worked right across the street...left the car and walked there. The last couple times I was there, I found myself feeling like Orbs...couldn't move...loved the music, but as the evening wore on, more and more kids coming in and the music changing to stuff I did not appreciate...
I won't be in WI, so not an option.
Next my question is when is State Fair??? I might be there for that function!
