Lead-tainted toys. Poisoned pet food. Toxic drywall.
All products imported from a country that the US is outsourcing much of its manufacturing to; China.
In a country that cares little about human safety or product quality, are we surprised that this happens to a residential building?
Buildings don't usually fall down - this brand new apartment building in CHINA fell OVER.

Holy crap. Look how nicely it all stayed together.
I just read where the mayor or was it the governor..I think the mayor is going to China and Japan to see about trades with us and them. I am on a rampage of seeing where things are made so I don't buy from China. I think we all should do this.
WOW: Was the building occupied, and did anyone get hurt or worse?
It's really quite a site. IMAGINE the engineering information gained from this accident.
Holy crap was my first response too!
Then.. was anyone in there? How long was it up before it fell over?
I also understand that we are borrowing heavily from China to fund our current debt. Weren't they part of the Red Threat? They say that the economy will be what leads globalization. Business can make for strange bedfellows.
I got an interesting e-mail the other day explaining how UPC labels can tell you where a product is made. All product made in the USA starts with the number 0
I didn't verify this but have no reason to believe it is not true. I don't know what I did with the e-mail but, will look for it again.
See what happens when too many people go to the windows on one side to look at a naked chick!
Part of me is thinking hoax. The building is over ten stories. For it to fall over like that, the velocity and ensuing impact of the top stories should have turned them to rubble
Toad, the info you are looking for is here http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/barcodes.asp
Haven't been able to find anything about this building yet though!
