Word on the street is that some of the women in relationships with the men recently arrested in raids in Racine and elsewhere have notable positions in our community.
The rumors say that some baby mamas are not only sticking up for their men, but they get paid with our tax dollars in jobs that serve the public. Of course, these women had absolutely NO idea of what their men were doing. None, uh-uh, nope, they never once thought to ask where all the cars and bling and money were coming from.

I HATE those terms: baby mama and baby daddy. Don't they realize it just makes them out to be loose and lascivious?
Notable positions. We can pick 'em, can't we?
While many of us are still troubled by crime, others take a more relaxed view toward it. I remember talking to Maurice on the old Journal Times site about the neighborhood that I grew up in (and my mother was moving out of), which he had just moved into. Mom was terrified by the shell casings on the corner, the drug deals, the robberies, etc. Maurice, on the other hand, waxed poetic about the neighborhood. Your perspective depends upon where you come from. Criminal pasts are par for the course in some areas, and I wonder if criminal activity hasn't become an acceptable alternative to legal employment in some of them, too?
In fact, I remember that conversation between you two. You posed that same question then. Did Maurice respond?
I believe you are exactly right. When you grow up and that is what you know, it seems normal. I thought I noticed some of those 41 arrested were father and son... what a waste.
My ex-wife used to live in the ghetto, so stories like these are a no surprise to me. As long as their baby daddys provide them money for their own "personal needs" they don't care where is comes from.
kk, I don't remember.
