I'm trying to stay away from aybody who looks or sounds sick. At the doctor's office the other day, they have masks and tissues out for people, and signs everywhere talking about the flu.
Signs showed up at my workplace telling people to stay home if they are sick. Fortunately, we have good sick leave (and since I don't take it very often, I have an insane amount built up).
Part of the problem is that you are contagious before the real symptoms appear. I'm all for staying home if you are sick.
But... yesterday, I felt funky: my eyes didn't want to work right, general aches, headache, tired, but no fever or cold symptoms.
Today, I'm fine. If we all stayed home when we think we might be coming down with something, our employers wouldn't like that either. Business and industry would suffer.
It is great to be informed. I don't like the scare tactics out there with the word pandemic being tossed around. Flu kills many people every year. At this point, H1N1 has not been that much different.
