Well, continuing with my hearing loss...I did see an ENT (ear, nose, throat) last week...he immediately ordered an MRI...and just to make you smile, gals, remember to take your cellphone out of your bra...mine came flying out, banged on all sides of the tube and flew at the tech...oh dear...new phone will arrive this week.
The doctor called twice on Friday; I was out....unfortunately, my brain is 'perfectly normal.' No signs of any tumors, growths, blood vessel problems, etc...nerves looks normal....
Now we all know my brain cannot possibly be normal, but let's just take his word for it.
Bottomline, 'get used to it.' Wouldn't I have loved to have punched him!

Although I really don't know if its good/bad news regarding the hearing, I am more concerned about the phone in the bra thing. Hmm..
Hey Beejay have you tried the "popping" of your ear yet?
No irregularity? I find that impossible! ;>
No socks, no phone, no misc in there....last I checked.
Yeah, take it seriously when they tell you what to do before an MRI!
There is an author named Tim Dorsey I enjoy. He writes novels in a genre known as "a bunch of south Florida wackos". His anti-hero, Serge, kills people who richly deserve it in creative ways.
One day Serge comes across a robber who has been holding up the elderly. Serge catches the guy and makes him swallow some bullets. Then Serge straps him into an MRI machine and the bullets shoot him from the inside. Serge moves the body and there is a morbidly funny scene when the police discover the body and are puzzled by the fact that there are only exit wounds.
From what I can tell about MRI machines, the composition of bullets, and the ignition temperature of gunpowder, this would work.
thank goodness I didn't swallow something metallic!!!!! Good grief...Hale, I didn't even think about that stuff......
Beejay, sorry there is no magic bullet cure for your hearing problems. Mom says you that hear "get used to it" more and more as you age.
You were lucky with the cell phone. I know a guy who still has small pieces of shrapnel in his innards from Vietnam and therefore they won't do MRIs on him. I've heard some other stories, but nothing as cool as the one that hale posted.
Orbs, I so wanted that 'magic bullet.' This hearing thing just makes me mad....And the noise changes from time to time...sometimes it sounds like a dripping faucet (plop, plop) or like a squeegie...and whooshing noises are common as well. A pain in the ear!!!
I am blessed with friends who have shown me a lot of understanding and a guy who steps in and helps me when he sees me struggling...
Today is a much better day for me. Yesterday stunk. But let's be real, a brain tumor or a loss of hearing...duh! Count my blessings and move on...
