  5. I forgot to put in my 2 cents worth...
    Mexican - Los Mariachi's
    Italian - Infunsino's on Rapids
    Fast food - Taco Bell
pan pizza - Infusino's on Washington
    thin - Mike and Angelo's

bakery - I used to be an O&H kringle snob, may still be actually but after this week I have to give Larsen's my vote on this one, and we did get our wedding cake from them 20 yrs ago too :)

Keep those votes coming in, I have a spread sheet ready and waiting!! I will probably bump this up once or twice before I go to the next round, thanks!

  6. I vote Dinos's for best overall Italian restaurant.

Worst Chinese would be Whey Chai. Not really any great sit down Chinese restaurants in Racine, but for Chinese buffet's "Asian Buffet" on Durand is the best. For Chinese delivery China House is the best.

Best Bakery - Bentsen's. Bentsen's and Larson's still makes their kringle by hand. O & H is manufactured on an assembly line.

Best Mexican - really none are that great in town and we usually drive to Jalepeno Loco by Mitchell airport, but would like to try the new one that just opened up on 6th. Of the ones we have I guess Tacos ElRay, (if only they would get rid of the smoking section of their restaurant)

Best sit down - Corner House.

  10. I don't eat out much.

    Chinese restaurant - Whey Chai
    Mexican restaurant - I don't know
    Italian restaurant - Salute's
Fast food restaurant - Kewpee's (they're fast food, right?)

Pizza place - thin crust - DeRango's, Douglas Ave (though the others may be just as good)
    Pizza place - pan style - I don't know

And I won't tell you who I think the best mechanic in town is because he's busy enough already.

Lizardmom, how about best grocery store, best discount store, best convenience store, best pharmacy, best park. I'll think of more.

  11. Toad, DeRango's on High is now Chubbie's. When it was DeRango's, I would agree with you about the pizza. (I grew up on that.) Chubbie's still makes a good pizza, but I feel that they put way too much cheese on it.

  20. Logjam: I left my bottle of Akvavit at my Daughters house. Really ticks me off, because I'll bet my son-in-law drank it? Now I have to drive all the way to LaCrosse to get more.

  30. There hasn't been any good Chinese in this town since Chiam's.

    Don't really eat any Mexican.

Salute is the best Italian tho' DeRose Bar used to be my fave.

    Good burgers & shakes @ Caesar's.

Best sit-down - Waves for the food, Spinnaker's for the view.

Fave thin crust pizza right now is Pias's. Don't really do deep dish (tho maybe I'll try theirs on Drew's recommendation...)

Pretty happy with bakery from Pick n Save just 'cause it's convenient - worked half a year at O&H once and pretty much OD'ed on their stuff lol.
