Last year there was a big hoopla about the H1N1 (swine) flu and vaccinations. I got both the regular flu shot and the H1N1 shot. I always get the regular shot and have already received this year's vaccination, which includes the swine flu strains in it.
Are you getting vaccinated this year? Why or why not? Irregular minds want to know.

I'll get it because my employer is covering it at no cost and it will be very conveniently done at my location.
Who knows, last year was a bust.... maybe this year it will hit harder than expected?
I got it twice in my life and both time ended up the the ER, the am-bow-lance had to take me.
They aren't tricking me 3 times!
I have to admit I do get them every year. Last year I got two. The years I have missed have always resulted in me getting sick. Cold and flu season is a lot easier when I get the flu shot.
Mary, I agree. I have almost always gotten the shot, the one year I missed, I ended up in the ER 5 times with chronic, rapid onset bronchitis and barely breathing when I was just fine 2 days earlier...I missed it last year, and really should get it this year to be on the safe side.
I've had the pneumonia shot as well, since they always fear I'm going to fast forward into it (never had it so far), but a friend of mine had her pneumonia shot and has had pneumonia twice this year anyways... makes you wonder...
I think the pneumonia shot protects you from some specific types of pneumonia, but not all forms. I've had that shot, too. I've had pneumonia twice in my life, both times when I was young.
